I read the first whatever (10?) chapters of Her Majesty's Swarm that are translated and I don't have much hope for it. The premise is really good but she pretty much just instantly decides to go with the bloodlust and they very superficially pay lip service to the idea of what's her vs what's the influence of being tied into the hive mind. They also build up an interesting moral dilemma between her and the swarm with the swarm wanting to eat the elf village but she wants to preserve it but then they almost immediately defuse it by having a comically over the top evil stand in come in and remove the choice. Isekai Apocalypse seems good but they keep hitting on the "I bet he's a pedophile" joke which just isn't funny at all?

RareAcumen posted:There was a translator group working on a bunch of stories like that but I can't remember the name of them anymore. Solo Leveling was pretty good early on, then it hits the Isekai curve and gets stupid. Really, I didn't have any issues with it until the mandatory evil Japanese show up as in all Korean Isekais. It's still good if you like trash isekai where the MC just murders everything because he's so special (and I do) and it doesn't have tooo much of the normal offensive trash stuff. I haven't read returner because the name and cover art made me think it was going to have a completely different premise than that. I'll give it a shot.

That was borders. Barne's and noble pivoted to carrying boards games, legos, and anime poo poo and having expensive coffee drinks in every store and has done alright. They still have books and places to sit so it's all good.

So it looks like Omniscient reader has finally reached the introduction of the comically evil Japanese as is mandatory for all Korean isekai.

Risou is surprisingly good and the presentation is not at all what you might expect from the plot. If you cut out like the first 5 pages of the entire series it would be a shoe in for the wholesome thread.

It's better than Gate if only because it doesn't have a super horny 12 year old running around owning the libs.

I mean the comic was made for a reason and delivers on it relatively well if a bit formulaically. It's just that the reason is jingoistic masturbation. I did really appreciate the detail of modern Japan meeting "totally not feudal Japan" and Feudal Not Japan is the only other reasonable country in the Isekai world. That's twice as much jingoism for your money.

It's a comic where the world setting is women have all of the political and social power yet somehow still have no agency in the world at large. What were you really expecting?

That's a shame. It definitely did the living in a Bethesda glitch world better than any of the other ones I've seen by far.

You also have to know what crops to use in rotation. There is a reason why legumes like soybeans and peanuts are used in fodder and grazing rotations though I think they originally used something like clover.Reveilled posted:But also this seems like the sort of thing any farmer would look at and go "hang on that's loving dumb" for all the above reasons, so instead of a famine it would hopefully just result in Pina, the prince and Remy's brother being called out as dumbasses. Or the issue is that the author or translator simplified things in which case I'm just thinking about it too hard. If any Autocratic government listened to farmers before ordering them to make changes we wouldn't have had the great leap forward or Lysenkoism. Pina is claiming this as a divine revelation from God and the prince believes her.

Ah Isekai, where you can defend a protagonist by saying, "It's not slavery, he's just a sleazy employer who uses power imbalance and debt trapping to force his employees to sleep with him" (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)

Not as bad as that pedophile knight one, but the pedophile knight one at least had really great monster designs.
