Homelander saw a bunch of supes murdering humans and supes harming, if not killing, those supes to protect humans and well it's not hard to figure out where modern Homelander is on opinions of such things. Plus, it's a blonde white lady and a handsome white teen versus a bunch of minorities. Dude is a super cop made by a nazi. Plus plus, Marie and Andre were the most likely to make the Seven of all the kids, so he was potentially eliminating a future PR/popularity issue for him.

That almost makes sense. Like, a quick six episode show focusing on someone in the media with the big guest stars from the original show would be fun, but also that feels like a spin off comic miniseries rather than a big budget amazon TV production.
