I read Potter late (started reading Discworld at 13 thanks to our 3rd year English teacher introducing me to the books), and thought the first three books were pretty decent children's books, but after that they just got lazier and lazier, with less and less active editing in view.

Did I write this already? I enjoyed them up to Hogfather then after that while I still enjoyed them I felt they went off the boil and I was no longer determined to get every book in the series. Did any of you see that documentary on Pratchett's dementia? It was very good I thought. Talking of Discworld... I did have a long Potter post ready to go but I will condense it to: Prisoner of Azkaban is the best book and movie; Half-Blood Prince had some good ideas; Order Of The Phoenix may be the worst book I've ever read; JK Rowling needed a stronger editor
