That's why you make a decoy Genius to sit somewhere looking important while the real one does work.  So if you pick Shen Yu you need to do a balancing act of placing him in a place that's both high-traffic for minions but also heavily protected?

I guess I got confused or missed the part where you explained it, though from seeing what people wrote earlier I understand that is in fact the case. But how do traps generate money exactly? Are there contraptions that pick people up and shake them down for cash like in old cartoons and such?
