Did I just have bad luck with mine? I'm an UltraPro fanboy and their only good sleeves are the regular pro matte sleeves.

flatluigi posted:They want it as a secondary format to standard, they don't want it dead. They want it dead because the eternal formats don't make money. Eternal format players don't buy packs and only do sometimes if a Masters set rolls out or for Modern Horizons. We're dumb enough to pay the absurd premium price, but only to a point. Wizards would love nothing more than if we threw our cards into the trash as soon as they were out of Standard. But people don't, so it creates this problem of giving people something to do with their old cards to keep them invested at all in the game.

I always guessed that the reason they gave the shocklands basic land types was because the entire plane is a city. So it would have been on theme.

And her ability let's her kill enchantments and artifacts, but according to our latest science bears are neither of those. She's wearing the third bear's skin around her neck. It's just that the color is the same as her hair and makes her hair look big and poofy.

These storybook cards just became an utterly loving miserable rules and memory issue. Whatever your idea of someone being dumber than a box of rocks is; always assume Magic players are even dumber than that.

Voyager I posted:Temporary side trips to Exile other than being permanently removed from the game has been a thing since I was in middle school and pretending it's going to be a problem is some amazing pearl-clutching action. With adventures, I think the problem is going to be people casting the adventure side and putting the card into their graveyard and then remember that they needed to put it into exile instead two or three turns later. A mechanic like rebound was a use-it-or-lose-it situation, so if you forgot to cast it in your next upkeep, it was gone forever.

Sickening posted:Plenty of great artists out there that haven't gotten a shot to put their art on magic cards that I could give a poo poo if Rebecca Guay gets another magic card. She's pretty much an institution in Magic illustration for anyone that's been playing the game since 2007 or earlier. People in this thread keep hoping for her to make some kind of a comeback, but anyone that's been following Guay's public-facing social media for a while knows that she moved on to teach art at Pratt Institute and that she moved on to gallery work.

What I'm saying is that Arthurian legend is obscure outside of the UK and maybe France. Your average mass media consuming nerd might know that Lancelot was one of the Knights of the Round Table, but nothing else. No one's going to understand a card that's a reference to the Green Knight.

My choices are purely to have editions with the updated rules texts or something else. Lightning Bolt - Updated with the current rules text. Lord of Atlantis - Updated with the current type line. Sword of Fire and Ice - Updated with the current rules text. Reuse the illustration by Chris Rahn and include the Mirran watermark. Sword of Light and Shadow - Reuse the illustration by Chris Rahn and include the Mirran watermark. Baneslayer Angel - I just hate the core set symbols and seriously it's been nine years since its last non-foil printing.
