on my most recent erport card the word nonplussed appears multiple times i would like to know if it is good or bad to dictate my decision 2 photoshop it out before showing my stepdad paul who has recently become interested in my academic preformance ive checked dictionaries which i already dont trust but it doesnt seem we as a species have really nailed down what nonplussed means here aree some further thoughts for ur consideration: - nonplussed at first sounds like it would mean subtraction or negative but the word does not appear in my math grades ipso facto - it has a non in the front so what you think it means maybe reverse it? - i think the "l" has been added throughout the history of the word to make it less pervy lookin |

i asked my uncle and he said that is what you do to a chicken before you carve it up. a plussed chicekn still has it's feathers and just before it is divided into parts it is nonplussed

I am beginning to think that nonplussed is an orphan word, created abruptly and abandoned just as quickly. Nonplussed is the grammatical ronin, left only to roam with no definition (which plays the role of the landowner in this analogy) to serve.
