Passives definitely feel like a trap after the first couple levels. As Marcus it seems to be a better idea for me to just feed my excess power to the builders. I've also bought a repair tool a couple times so I can fix stuff on the portion of the map that I'm covering and it works out pretty well. I also had a game where 2 people were Jack. We ended up not winning, that missing gun hurt.
