No YAC because no contact. The exemplifying run needs a couple defenders bouncing of the runner. Though maybe bouncing off each other counts. Real answer: That Man is NOT a Running Back!

True, but he was also the best passer in the league. It feels like sacrilege.

Just a little bump, lest the importance of establishing the run stray from our minds

I've wanted to make some nominations but having a lot of trouble getting the right clips. Are there like some twitter accounts that focus on blocking/run game or somewhere else I could try?

Also, does the championship continue into the playoffs? Obviously the Titans win wild card weekend

Yeah I think if I'd been specifically looking for and taking notes on good OL play for run blocking etc. from the beginning of the season I might have a vague chance to poitn out a few good ones, but at this point looking back, I have no idea how to find those.

Who is the best overall group of Run Blocking Offensive Linesmen in 2019 this year though? We got any stat heads who want to give that a look?

Despite Lamar fudging the numbers the Ravens have been great. 49ers obviously. Titans. Those are the main ones that come to mind. Shockingly, Arizona is number 2 in yards per rush attempt, which I did NOT see coming.

Need to get Patrick Ricard on best individual block, I've been looking for this epic block he made for a while but I can't find it

Best TEAM and Best Individual Runners have been decided, these are the OTHER awards:

Voting

:siren: The Moving Wall - The O-Line that even Trent Richardson could find a hole behind. The best overall group of Offensive Linesmen in 2019. :siren:

Using stats to come up with the Nominations, I've decided to use:
RB Yards: Yards per carry by that team's running backs, according to standard NFL numbers.
Power Success: Percentage of runs on third or fourth down, two yards or less to go, that achieved a first down or touchdown.
Stuffed: Percentage of runs where the running back is tackled at or behind the line of scrimmage. Since being stuffed is bad, teams are ranked from stuffed least often (#1) to most often (#32).

The Nominations are:

The Minnesota Vikings

  • 7th in RB Yards with 4.67
  • 5th in STUFFED rank with 16%
  • 12th in Power Rank with 68%
-------------------------------------

The Dallas Cowboys

  • Ranked 6th on their RB yards on the season with 4.68
  • #1 STUFFED rank on the season, getting stuffed an NFL low only 13% of plays.
  • Power success Ranked 2nd with a conversion rate of 76%.
-------------------------------------

The Baltimore Ravens

  • #1 Overall RB Yards this season with 4.97
  • STUFFED percentage was 13% tied for #1 on the season.
  • Power Success on the lower side at 63% giving them the 22nd rank in the NFL
-------------------------------------

The Tennessee Titans

  • #3 in RB Yards with 4.83
  • #13 in Stuffed Rank with a 18%
  • Power Success is Ranked #5 with 73% success rate.

The Beatly Blocker:

Kittle. Also, here's a better angle on it:

Also, it's chill if you don't want to add them to the Beastly Blocker contest but a couple sweet honorable mentions from Patrick Ricard who owned people from the fullback position unlike any other in the NFL. This dude isn't made to run play action and catch passes he's made to destroy dudes and open up holes

For "moving wall" it'd be cool if we could get a ranked list of the top teams for running back yards before contact. I think that stat is representative at least in part of the ability of that team's OL to run block effectively and create lanes and creases.

Thanks ( I was looking for average rather than total, but this is still illustrative of how many runs the ravens had). I do wonder about who was 2nd, but I think I've gotta give the Ravens the vote for Wall here anyway, I don't wanna drag this out and they must have blocked pretty drat well.

For run, I just can't bring myself to give it to Lamar; the purity of the running back being the run establisher is too attractive. I vote for the Henry run.

For the block, the everett and nelson blocks aren't even on designed run plays. I love a good fullback block but I feel like the Ham one isn't the best I've seen this season, and I'm a niners homer so gently caress it, it's the Kittle block.
