Makes Iowa's win look better in retrospect. Shoulda beat Iowa as well, but the offense failed to capitalize early on and special teams screwed the pooch at the end.

Lol all you want, Iowa played like rear end against ISU for what they think is a top 15 team. :V Bird in a Blender posted:ISU doesn't play a ranked opponent until 11/9 when they go to Oklahoma. There's a decent chance they win all of those since their hardest game will be against Okie State, but they get them at home. I'd be happy to see it. ISU's never going to be a favorite in the rankings, but I do love watching them beat teams with exponentially bigger budgets. They need to get their turnovers under control though, it's embarrassing and the defense can't spend two thirds of the game on the field and not die in the second half.

If it helps you with context, they were supposed to go out on the east side of the Jacobson building (visible to the band's immediate right), which importantly doesn't have a stream of fans exiting into it. I'm just marveling at whatever idiot thought it was a good idea to march that band into the crowd playing the fight song after a 1 point win in a state rivalry game that ran six hours later than planned due to storms those fans all sat through in an open stadium. Starting poo poo with the band is inexcusable, but have a care for the situations you put your students in too. The Register is a Gannett paper that doesn't have much of anyone doing actual local reporting anymore... so they're losing subscribers like crazy because just reprinting the AP wire, USA Today articles, and stuff pulled from the local TV news isn't really a hot seller. If you want to get more shady, Busch reached out to King about the tweets before he had his press conference. Meaning that it's likely the reporter also made sure to tell them, expecting that King would handle it badly and it would make the scandal bigger.

So in Carson King news, Busch has been shamed into upholding their commitment to match donations through the end of Sept, total is at $1.9 million. The reporter who thought this was a grand idea just got fired, although the editorial staff is doubling down hard on not admitting fault.
