I've a couple of months to kill wherein I work, online, sporadically and have to be in Belgium every month. I'm thinking of either renting a house in some Mediterranean country or housesitting. There are a million different sites for the latter, some rather expensive, any recommendations would be most welcome. Also, please share your experiences.

My wife and I used trusted housesitters a few times as clients, looking after houses for people while they were away for a period of time. We've done it in our home city as well, though usually via extended friends & family network. We had good experiences with it, as long as you're a responsible adult and can keep a place clean & tidy you should be fine.
