Hello. I'm Punch McLightning, your host for this year's WrestleHut-128 tournament. To help not make it completely poo poo, I need your help. You can find past tournaments here: 2017 - winner: Kazuchika Okada 2015 - winner: Kevin Owens 2013 - winner: Daniel Bryan 2011 - winner: CM Punk 2009 - winner: Chris Jericho 2007 - winner: Chris Benoit I need suggestions for wrestlers to include. Obviously high profile workers like the WWE, NXT, New Japan, and AEW rosters aren't exactly mysteries. The results of J-Ru's favorite wrestlers thread will also be considered. But if you know someone from a smaller company or the indies that you don't want overlooked, please If you're interested in doing graphics for this, I'd love to have your help. Ideally, we'd have a tournament bracket and an easy to update match-up graphics. Also, if you have suggestions on a theme, feel free to share that too, but I think I have a good idea. I'm hoping to get this launched in about two weeks, if all goes well. I'm really excited for this tournament. I hope you all have fun with it. Thanks!!!!!!

I knew Jerusalem was avoiding me. I called him up back in March, and his secretary answered. Said they were absolutely thinking of bringing me back. "The WH128 can't happen without HulkaMatt", she said. "It's his baby". And then it happened. All looked to be like it was going to happen. Then april happened. Then may. No call! Not even for my birthday! And then when I called back, I was told Mr. Jersualem was not taking any calls or messages. I thought wow, that's weird, but I understand that Mr. Jru has a lot of work to do. But this, this is unreal. No contact at all as he hires this bright young talent PUNCHY MCLIGHTNING. He replaced me! I finally just stormed into his office after I saw this thread and he said "hulkamatt, get out of my office". I was stunned. Speechless. But JRU. Why. Why would you do this. Why would you take my baby awaok I was gonna just drag this out but I'm lazy as hell.

I'd wait and see who is on the list that J-Ru is doing but also include Hiromu Takahashi since this is supposed to count for those years in between as well as nowish

Absolutely wait for the list since it's a forum only tournament. Make sure no Okada if you want to keep up with the tradition of the last winner having a by to the finals. I would do graphics but tbqh those first 4 days are so loving stressful and it's a lot of editing and counting in too short an amount of time so if you wanted the same bracket from me, you'd get it, just not the second the round is over like usual.

also since it seems like there's almost 200 people in the J-ru list you should cut the ones that have low number of votes maybe if there's a steep drop between the top ones and the bottom half. Maybe replace Okada in the tournament with Hiromu

Maybe replace Okada in the tournament with Hiromu Yeah, there's over 200 on the WWE+NXT+NXT UK roster alone, per Wikipedia. One idea I have had is to combine tag teams into a single entry, though I have mixed feelings on doing that.

Folks to cut from this year's tournament: Mr. rear end (is now a producer rather than a wrestler) Dolph Ziggler (come the gently caress on) Big Cass (really?) Michael Elgin (nobody likes him anymore) Baron Corbin (lmao) Hanson (nobody thinks of the Viking Raiders as singles folks anymore) Jinder Mahal (lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooo) Raymond Rowe (see Hanson) Jey Uso (see Hanson, but replace 'Viking Raiders' with 'Usos') Scott Dawson (see Hanson, but replace 'Viking Raiders' with 'Revival') Joey Ryan's Dick (no.) Nikki Bella (retired) Katsuyori Shibata (probably won't be unretiring any time soon ;_;) Alberto El Patron (lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo) Jimmy Uso (see Jey Uso) Enzo Amore (again, really?) Eric Young (he hasn't really done anything singles-wise since Sanity broke up) Austin Aries (nope.) Dash Wilder (see Scott Dawson) So yeah, there's room to expand imo e: forgot about TJP. gently caress TJP, dude's a prick e2: also, as mentioned, Okada won in 2017 so he's off the list too, but that's a given I guess Venomous fucked around with this message at 15:03 on Oct 2, 2019 |

I’m planning on doing a World Cup style of assigning slots in the tournament by “seed.” 64 seeds will be separated from each other for at least the first round, basically breaking the bracket into three groups: Group A: the top 32 from J-Ru’s tournament Group B: 32 other important figures from major companies that basically have to be included, which means a lot of WWE guys given the results of the J-Ru Invitational Group C: the rest of the field

Reminder that this tournament is supposed to be weighed in the voters minds about the wrestler performances from 2017 to 2019, which is why i'm amendment on Hiromu being part of the tournament even though he's inactive near the end of '18 and this year.
