Looks like Chernobylite might be good going by early impressions?

Amazing Cultivation Simulator now has an official English translation available as a beta. It's a colony management game that focuses on developing your individual colonists into supernatural powerhouses. Think Rimworld, but you manage a Naruto village.

There's an LP of the game here.

It has a vast amount of content, I'm 80 (holy moly) hours in and there's still entire mechanics I'm ignoring because it's too much to learn at once. If you're a Rimworld fan and enjoy making numbers go up, I strongly recommend the game.

This looks positively insane and fun.

Dyson Sphere Program has been released. It looks interesting - like some sort of Factorio but with planets and alot more automation.

That dyson sphere game might peel me away from Satisfactory, I am intrigued!

It's so far so Factorio, even down to the whole having to build research buildings and feeding them blue/red/green things. I think it opens up a bit later on, but so far it feels a bit plagiaristic.

Sad to hear that Startopia remake is bad, but i'm honestly not surprised.

I've got the OG one on the steam library. Guess i'll install that if I want some nostalgia. :(

It looks like somebody looked at Kenshi and Warframe and said "Do that in one game."

Download the Immortal Mayor this morning. It's a cutesy enough city building game, but its very rough around the edges at the moment, and seems incredibly easy to cheese through?

Kaiju Wars is out (I think)

Demo seemed quite fun. Sort of a cross between Into the Breach and Advance Wars.

Also you have to take on a smug king kong.

Throwing my hat in that chaos gate is very fun and surprisingly quite hard. It has a good level of grimdark desperation mixed into it. It's very tricky to come out of maps with your grey knights in one piece.

Anyone playing Sniper Elite 5?

I'll be the negative guy and say I'm really not enjoying it compared to older versions. There is something very "paint-by-numbers" about it. The open world is pretty but very empty, and something about it just doesn't work, although I don't know what. It's maybe that the enemies are so obvious in their locations that it creates bland gameplay. Sure, you can try stealthily getting up close to everyone and taking them out silently, but why bother when the AI is so mind numbingly dumb that you can just pick them off from 100 meters away. I think maybe in the prior games there was a sense of the enemy doing something, whereas in this one they just stand around and wait for me to shoot them.

The open world is definitely a big issue though - there are wide open spaces of nothing happening, with optional objectives that seem to be bizarrely empty of actual risk. In the 1st mission one of the optional objectives is to destroy 4 AA guns, but these guns are entirely unmanned and unguarded - I just walked in and blew them up without so much as a single enemy bothering themselves.

Finally (maybe controversially?) there is a really weird, non-lethal aspect that's been added, in which you're granted extra XP for not killing Nazis. The game seems to go rather out of its way to give you all sorts of non-lethal rounds to avoid...killing Nazis...

Basically i'm glad it's on xbox game pass - i'd give it a pass otherwise.

It’s also really loving awful.

The visuals are a treat (story is interesting as well) but god drat does the combat feel like a poorly aged PSX game. The devs sure love wasting the players time with unskippable cutscene that happen AFTER checkpoints.

It's also extremely difficult to work out what to do, since the game offers no narrative or information whatsoever, and the Giger rooms have a tendency to all look the same.

I think it owns, love the commitment to the theme and art style. I feel like most games look underdeveloped and massively less visually pleasing in comparison. And I enjoy working out the puzzles with no handholding and kind of trying to create my own narrative for what's going on there. To each their own!

Yup, fair enough! :) There's definitely going to be people who enjoy this, it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Singleplayer/Co-op Tarkov. It's Tarkov, but set in Vietnam and you can play offline. It works almost exactly the same with all the gunporn stuff like swapping out rails, barrels, putting on two flashlights and a laser. Yes, you can put the laser on the top of your rail and block your iron sights (I know because I did it by accident). You get randomized missions and get paid for successfully completing them. You lose all the stuff you're carrying if you die, so you've got a reason to loot all those extra AKs that you find. Only one map available at the moment.

Early Access: 75% positive from 162 reviews.

There doesn't seem to be an ability to strip and mod weapons at the moment, unless i'm missing something?

EDIT: Figured it out, have to inspect the weapon.
