Its going to end in some poetic justice for griffith, or hell die a pitiful death not having learnt anything at all. Any kind of end except redemption would be a satisfying one for griffith.

Well its nice to have a confirmation of something everyone suspected for a long time. Though I now wonder Did Geiseric kill those four god hands in a death rage? Or is the nature of the god hand something different and void is hiding something? Rigged Death Trap fucked around with this message at 17:13 on Oct 22, 2020 |

Whatever path lies forward for guts, id think the best one would be one where he doesnt have to fight anymore, or at the least learn to not fight alone and not shoulder everything on himself. A chance for both him and casca to become free of their trauma. Which is why im a fan of rickert being the one to end it. It deprives griffith of his grand battle and shields guts from further pain.

Yeah when ganishka exploded the force was so great it merged the material and spirit worlds. Or very large areas of overlap.

Darko posted:This is getting into a whole philosophical discussion, but once gods exist, nobody actually chooses anything because the God creates what the person is for their long term plans and makes the person that makes the decision they want ahead of time. Thats the point of Guts - you can't plan around him. Only for omnipotent, omniscient big-G gods. While the idea of evil and by extension the Godhand may be omniscient theyre definitely not omnipotent. Just very powerful. For example in greek and norse myth even the gods are subject to the whims of their fates (the fates and the norns, respectively). And we know the godhand arent timeless and are either eventually replaced or can be killed, judging by Skull Knights memories.

The way the story is implying, If guts becomes able to fight the godhand then hed lose everything and himself in the same ways SK did. Griffith, he can fight. Femto, not so much.

Thats not within the tone or heading of the story. I dont think guts, or anyone really, can "defeat" the IOE. Its essentially a force of nature thats taken on recognizably human appendages with which to affect the world.

Yeah rickert didnt miss. Guts journey has been in part about being able to rely on and trust other people again, amd to learn that his own strength isnt enough and can never be enough, unless he gives up all that makes him guts and he becomes like SK. This seems like a further reinforcement of that, but its such a gut punch that im genuinely unsure where well go from here wrt guts characterization. And Ive said it before in the thread but griffiths most fitting end isnt a fateful final clash with guts but dying pathetically in obscurity as his dream crumbles around him.
