That could be potentially pretty useful for wildland prescribed fire operations, or for hunting down your enemies in a campaign of terror culminating in your ascension as cyber-warlord.

I would love to oversee a robot meant for torching forest floors. The stakes are incredibly high, I imagine

I'd probably do something wrong and have to trek out near a fire to unstick a robot dog that has a gas tank on it.

I had some lady in a big SUV behind me on the highway the other day who was clearly holding her phone in one hand while driving at 75mph. It was rush hour and traffic came to a pretty quick stop at one point and I look up to see her looking at her phone, not seeing that I had stopped until way too late, slamming on the brakes and having to swerve a bit into the shoulder, then immediately picking up her loving phone again as soon as traffic resumed. Obviously isn't going to learn her lesson until she gets into an accident, it's infuriating. I got out of the lane because I was afraid she would rear end me.

By the way I get teased about it in the Costco thread because everyone buys the expensive/tiny air purifier they sell, but what I've done for decades is just:

$20 box fan:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Lasko-2...20201/203072133

$10 for 4 of these 24-inch bungies:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/SmartStraps-24-in-Green-Flat-Strap-Bungee-Cord-with-Hooks-2-pack-330/320682607

$10 each for allergen filters of your choosing:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-20-in-x-20-in-x-1-in-Allergen-Plus-Pleated-Furnace-Air-Filter-FPR-7-MERV-11-2-Pack-HDX2P7-012020/314671405

Loop the bungies around the fan and hook them to themselves, like so:

That's been running about 3 months and due for a change. It moves a huge volume of air compared to those little air purifiers and you can prop it up in a corner, and the filters are a huge value since it's not some proprietary size.

Some loving college hipsters tried to say they invented it during covid just because they did the same thing and taped 4 filters into a cube shape, but that just makes the whole thing take up 4x the space. They just wanted to put their dumb names on something. Mine works fine!

The humidity goes down the drain. A ventless would typically be a heat pump unit. Moist air from the dryer drum passes over a cold evaporator coil which causes the moisture to condense and then drain out of the machine. The cool drier air is then heated back up by the condenser coil and this goes on until your clothes are dry.

It does take longer than just blasting your clothes with hot dry air though.

I spent a month in Spain thinking the dryer was broken but nope, it was just a really, really slow machine that was barely faster than air-drying.

Good news: she's not going to learn her lesson even when she gets an accident because it will obviously have been that other guy's fault

Yeah, when I lived in the .cz, we used one of these at an airbnb we stayed at while apartment hunting. Once we found a place and got a washer, we just got a clothes drying rack because it takes the same amount of time. If the weather's too humid, just move the rack next to the water heater or a radiator if you're running the heat.

Now I'm back in the States I have an expensive washer and a cheap dryer, it's way better than the euro experience lol

In fact, the whole fire part was completely irrelevant to the weird trick. There could have been a naked lady juggling on a monowheel in the background and the result would have been the same.

This. I basically don't check my phone if I'm actively driving - there is nobody that's going to call me with enough of an emergency that I can't call them back when I reach my destination (or stop for any other reason).

Either way, mount a steering damper if you're gonna do anything over highway speeds. Dude got lucky.

Lucky is certainly the right word. Something went really wrong for that to happen on a modern bike.

My money is on the rider, but there's not enough video to establish a pattern of poor riding technique. The other option is suspension 'setup', but that's me being all judgy based upon the bling and other crap I can see on the bike.

He probably hit one of those bumpy lane markers while under power, bouncing the wheel up into the air and kicking it off centre, that's what typically triggers it. Same thing can happen with wheelies when landing the front back onto the road at an angle.

I've heard the MT-09 is also quite sensitive to it. Somehow many people are just accepting it, but i'd immediately get a steering damper installed tbh, it is one of the scariest things about riding, because on some bikes it looks like it just happens from out of nowhere.
