ritchie hawtin put on a rave in an old meatpacking plant back in the nineties. there were these sheets of plastics hanging from the former meathooks, parallel to the floor that would rise and lower over the course of the night, with a smoke machine and lasers shining through them. the lasers would fragment and fractal, your brain would absolutely get lost in them and it was seriously difficult to tell up from down at some points. there was also punch filled with acid and molly. so pretty much that, all the time. I'd also like some zoos for libertarians and conservatives, so little children can learn what wrong think is while throwing fruit at the caged morons.

For a start we need to do away with the United States federal government. I think it would be prudent to run different autonomous areas along different political lines so as to test and experiment with different political forms. In general, what I want is low level local control, with workplaces organized along democratic means. The power of higher levels of organization would be extremely restricted. And any kind of organizing type job would be a giant pain in the rear end with limited power, no prestige, and lots of pain in the rear end work. This is designed against bad actors trying to attain power for it's own sake. Important decisions will be made by voluntary caucuses of workers held intermittently, Food, housing, transportation, education and healthcare are provided for everyone. Much of the economy would be dedicated to transforming the economy to be less damaging to the planet... building energy efficient housing, sustainable agriculture, public transportation infrastructure, recycling existing electronics into new consumer goods. The point is to restrict energy use in comfortable parts of the world, so that that energy can be decreased in aggregate and we can create an energy deficit large enough to allow less comfortable parts of the world to increase their standards of living. Public safety would be taken care of by squads of first responders, made up of medical workers, fire safety workers and unarmed community mediators. These community mediators are not cops. They do not enforce the law. Their mission is to keep people safe. They are trained heavily in deescalation and counseling people dealing with trauma. If someone is having a mental health crisis and has hurt someone or is likely to hurt someone they can work with the medical workers to bring them to somewhere they can receive mental healthcare. If someone is hurt then these first responders will have resources to keep them safe. The justice system is set up to seek restorative justice, not carceral punishment. If someone has a pattern of abuse or behavior which is actively dangerous to themselves or society they can be remitted to a mental healthcare facility where the doctors will treat them. Finally, for the criminals of the old world, for the.masters of capital and the rest of the ruling class and their lap dogs, they cannot be trusted to integrate into this new society. The solution to them is to place them in what were prisons in the old world, the one difference being they are wired up with a ludicrous amount of cameras, way way more than exist in current prisons, every angle imaginable. They are given the absolute bare resources necessary to survive and not a pea more. Then, they are the big show. Their beefs, their schemes, their betrayals; incredible television. They are closely monitored and the most trusted revolutionary soldiers are tasked with keeping them contained in these capitalist cultural reserves for the entertainment of the masses.

Mostly what I think is that we're too crushingly alienated from valuable production that creates our lives, and have little to no say in what is created with our labor, because of how diluted it is. Is there any discussion at all about a kind of production balkanization w/ advanced technologies and automation making sustainable local /regional production of most commodities/food realistic or even better than what's going on now? I know for a fact that because of the profit motive we sacrifice huge amounts of cheap resources and poo poo up the environment to facilitate our stratified production schemes (where material is gathered, versus where it's turned into a resource versus where it's tooled/cut/machined versus where its assembled versus where its sold), so even if more regional production required a bit more labor and people involved, at least it's good productive work that provides for your community? Every city and population center is the same homogeneous bullshit that actively resists cultural growth from the ground up by the people that live in it, and that lack of personal connection to the community and the infrastructure just makes everyone tune the gently caress out of that aspect of life. I mean yeah, I guess you could get involved in local politics/civics if you're privileged enough to have the time/energy/money, but most people don't and even if they could don't get to do much in the way of meaningful decision making. Obviously I don't want to "till the land", at least not without a John Deere, but there's so much space and so much of everything, I want people to be able to go outside the lines and create/collaborate/commune with each other in ways that fulfill them without needing to be a millionaire with a hunk of "owned land" to do it, and obviously that requires the abolition of private property and land/rent rights, and that requires a revolution soooooooooooooooooooo

The Culture also isn't entirely aspirational, to be fair. The running theme of the entire series is "the Culture does an imperialism, fucks up, actually manages to make things worse even though their goals were nominally ethical." e: It's also heavily implied that beings as advanced as Culture Minds would normally transcend to a higher plane of existence and leave mortal species alone, and that the Culture as a whole are basically a bunch of condescending perverts for sticking around to meddle with things they don't approve of instead of letting people work things out for themselves. It's a nice place to live, and most regular people in the Culture are happy to just live unremarkable lives of luxury and personal development, but the leadership are arrogant demigods playing at regime change. In all honesty here is my state. Major industries all under government supervision. Healthcare will of course be provided. Those who show signs at a young age of supporting old liberalism will be sent to special schools. Elections will be held but parties will be actively suppressed if they support liberalism. At age 17 all children will be engaged in a program for three years where they are taught basic weapons matinance, construction , agriculture and logistics.While also being used in a program to plant trees to reverse desertification and create a carbon sync. Infrastructure will be calibrated to building rail over roads and nuclear power plants fallowed by solar, tidal, and wind. There will be a slow reduction in ranching, and promotion people eating chicken over beef. With a campaign focused on meatless Monday’s. Small businesses will still be allowed but incentivized to become workers cooperatives through the tax system. Most major retail outlets will be broken up into regional hubs and handed over to workers and their remaining corporate government will emulate Mondragon. Farming will be promoted in school with a goal of breaking up now state owned major ag combines and turning them over to smallholders. College will be free, and there will be a purge of administration. Protestantism will definitely be suppressed, as it was the handmaiden of liberalism. Also. As I view a nuclear war in India caused by the RSS likely. Hindu temples that had strong RSS ties will be required to shut down. Sunni Mosques will be required to turn over and destroy any and all books that were donated by Saudi financed foundations. Masonry as it has a strong history of being a recruiting ground for the CIA as well as the means by which it undermined good countries will be outlawed. All major media companies will be broken up and the remains handed over to the workers. Also security services will launch a major investigation into the child abuse that the studio system covered up and encouraged with a goal of having state broadcaster giving extended coverage to the investigation. People will be limited to six hours a day of high speed internet. Also government will fund initiatives to promote municipal sports leagues and municipal video rentals. Municipalities are To be empowered to regulate the internet as they see fit. As well as encouraged to maintain local militias. One thing will be banned from municipalities. Golf. Finally Police will be eliminated. As instead police will be made up of elected positions voted by neighborhoods. Immigration enforcement will be a job of the Department of Justice with a promotion of accepting those who come from fellow Socialist countries and those that are refugees from capitalist countries second. All means will be used for this as the security of the state will be paramount. The military will have a policy of supporting revolution wherever it can. With a promotion of invasion of those places where revolutionary fervor is strongest. Policy towards China and Russia will be to promote state as an American synthesis of the American ideas and the great successes of China and Russia. Active hostility will be used in regards to The EU, and India. Also generally the Mid East will be treated as a no go zone. Military will be funded at five percent gdp. With goal of unfortunate but necessary constant war against capitalists in Anglosphere and Hispanidad. With goal of liberation of all former countries there.
