He played for us in the MLS offseason on the same team as Pirlo and Ronaldinho and let me tell you, it owned. I don’t remember if the galaxy paid his salary but it was an insane bargain even if they didn’t.

I was wondering how the hell he wasn't playing but it looks like he's been out on loan in Turkey for a while. I'm sure Arsenal would be happy to get him off the books.

Valon Behrami is heading back to Genoa just a few months after he left FC Sion by terminating his contract early. Seems a bit of a gamble but it’s a free transfer.

Perin back to Genoa (on loan, I imagine permanent at the end). Bad for Juve, as they’ll need a new backup keeper after this year but good for him as he’s too good to be a backup.

Yeah I was getting at the fact that the players in Wolves' current starting lineup are much better suited to playing in that formation and also are proven to perform well in those positions. Just didn't work out for Cutrone is all.

Ibra’s on a six month contract with an option to renew if he performs for next year. Last time we did this we got Beckham who was actually great until he did his Achilles. It can’t get much worse so this seems fine.

Conte turns mediocre players in to good ones; he’s been doing it since he was at Juventus and even before at lower levels. This is exactly why I wanted him at Milan.

Is he a really good coach, good at man management, just adapting tactics to get the best out of his personnel (thinking of his switch to 3-5-2 with WBs at Chelsea) or all of the above?

It’s certainly man management and demanding players that fit in to a certain system. He’s used that 3-5-2 in lots of places so it’s more that he knows how to tell players to work that way rather than adapting to it. He does know when to switch though.

This would tie in with what happened at Chelsea I guess? The backlash felt like them not liking being told strictly how to play in a system, particularly Hazard. So of course Sarri was a logical replacement :v:

Seems like it; he's like Sarri-lite in that he's got his favorites but unlike Sarri, he's got more than 2 formations to work with and is willing to change if necessary. He's also an ex footballer so I feel like he relates more to them. A good ex footballer even.

listen, they traded the opportunity to sign a player (but only after 9 other teams have signed a player from a very small group of available players) for free for the possible opportunity to spend more money that they may or may not have on something else. It's very simple, you see.

I read somewhere that Spinazzola wasn't going to pass a medical or something. I know Milan was after Politano for some reason earlier but I thought that was all settled since this seemed like it was going through.

Politano barely plays under Conte; his agent has some work to do.
