I dont really know how that's being an rear end in a top hat but he's just trying to help get more volunteers. We got hit by the sudden news that like 39,000 ballots were sent out to voters already and we're trying to get as many people on the phone calling those 39,000 people as possible to make sure they know Jess is an option. People overwhelmingly like her and her platform as long as they actually know she exists. Alobar is a great phone banker and a great musician and people really made him feel like poo poo and he got defensive which any of us would do when someone makes us feel like poo poo.

The simple fact is that he Kramered in and, upon getting shocked reactions, doubled down. You do realize that people in that thread have contributed food, medicine, and protective gear? Have helped organize each other in regard to bail funds and general support for those who can't actively get involved? That some of those posters have been involved with forcing votes by intransigent city councils? Have been assaulted again and again either physically or with gas? Have rendered medical aid? He told people actively resisting that their happy fancy pant bullshit didn't matter compared to phonebanking for a future vote. It was tone deaf as hell. I'm sorry he feels bad. I'm glad he didn't mean it. I had to apologize myself there not long ago. I get that he was  ingEveryone there is glad to have a new ally. Tell him I'm sorry for freaking out, too. Just.. read the room.

Well, sure. But you've got a passionate guy in a jokey forum thinking he's getting messed with because they're "playing" at being serious with him. I took it to the Trump thread and got what he got for opposite reasons. Private messages were exchanged. A mod got involved. But I was intentionally a Karen while he thought he was being hosed with. Even his backhanded attempt at an apology was literally "we believe the exact same things and are in pain for the same reasons, but we have butted heads *in this moment* because we have different focuses *right now*." It was wrong-headed but angry and sincere for the very same reasons the thread was angry. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. He should lurk a bit, catch up, and join us. A good week after the primary. I really can't stress enough that polls aren't a thing outside of huge races. As you work with local campaigns, you learn that they are practically irrelevant and their presence in the political meta-discussion culture is vastly over represented.

Phone bankers on this campaign are told to lean very skeptical. Unless we directly hear "ill be voting for Jess scarane" we don't mark as support so we're not deluding ourselves. One thing I think that has hurt other campaigns is people think that if a candidate and the voter are aligned on issues, the voter will vote for the candidate but we know people are super irrational about that.
