i like windows and linux and macos. i feel like the only one with any kind of remaining broad traction on the desktop in a professional setting in 2020 is windows though, and increasingly the hobbyist sphere is dragged along.

same. windows does everything I need it to both for work and home.

I have a coworker who put linux on his desktop at the office because of "flexibility" or whatever and even after almost a year of mandatory WFH there hasn't been a single ssh, vnc, or rdp connection to it. 99% of what network touchers do can be done on any OS. the last 1% is poo poo network touchers should be telling the project manager to do

osx is pretty okay except for the permissions lockdowns

linux is pretty okay except for the tribal nerd wars and difficult to set up configs

windows 10 is pretty okay except for the fact that you might hit a 2019 designed dialog box, or a 1997 dialog box, depending on which control panel item you click on

yeah it really sucks when you have to use the garbage 2019 dialogs instead of the clean, efficient 90s dialogs
