also an experienced human would have had that pizza prepped and in the oven before that conveyor belt thing even finished applying the sauce

no kidding

Costco has a pizza robot that dispenses sauce but it takes up the space of exactly one pizza and it’s pretty drat fast

as a former pie slinger, that costco machine is cool, having even sauce distribution is crucial to a good pizza. also having better control of sauce consumption is good for inventory/ordering.

if they had a good machine for cheese it would be even better, because cheese cost is a motherfucker. also having a bunch of cheese pies automatically ready to go to be topped for a rush would be nice.

You can see the scale they use to weigh how much cheese to put on the pizza just to the left. They use a pound and a half of cheese on the cheese pizza.

it got a ton of press for the all-cgi cast and because it was the first big blockbuster of the most recent 3d movie trend. half the people on the planet went to see it once for the novelty, and approximately no one saw it twice.

the most baffling thing about avatar to me is that disney built an avatar theme park

They're expecting the new Avatar movies to be the next Star Wars, a generation-spanning franchise with 30+ years of staying power.
