I have a pitch meeting with Ravensburger games tomorrow for one of my designs, Walking Doggos, and my roommate is awesome and made a new sell sheet for me.

Also last night I got the first fully printed prototype for White Hat in the mail. I've been doing piecemeal orders of bits and parts, but this is the first full order I've placed. It turned out amazing.

LatwPIAT posted:A game about hacking!? Where can I learn more!? https://whitehat.games/ Currently looking for publishers, but it's on TTS and I try to keep the rules on my site and the TTS mod updated with the latest changes. The basic idea is that you're a team of hackers at a hacking competition, competing to beat the other teams to finding and patching vulnerabilities on your computers. It's action selection/worker placement where workers get better at a task the longer they spend up it (up to a point), but you often need to shift gears and change what hackers are doing, which make them start over on the other tasks if they go back later. There's also an engine building mechanic where you upgrade your computer so you can run more software on it so you can patch vulnerabilities faster. It's super fun and I love it. Currently tweaking end game scoring but it's really close to a finished design.

Finished my first pitch of GenCon this morning and it went really well. The publisher wants to actually play my game over the next week and will get back to me, which is a huge step. Really exciting. If you want to watch me make an rear end of myself, I'll be on the Shark Tank event hosted by White Wizard Games at 1pm EDT Sunday. Should be streamed to https://twitch.tv/whitewizardgames

I have a publishing offer on the table! Can't talk about, and don't want to talk about, the details until I have an actual contract in my hands, but that should be happening in the next week. Walking Doggos is going to have a slightly new theme and brand new artwork. An artist is already in talks with the publisher and I'm incredibly excited for how fast everything is moving along. I can't wait to be able to share more! Sentient Data posted:Finally sat down to concentrate on making the sell sheet for my game, how does this look? https://www.buddingheroes.com/pdf/sellsheet.pdf Pretty good start! I'd make it a little less wordy, and use the space regained to add some more space between sections. Every paragraph extols the virtues of it being easy to learn and pickup and play with no prior experience, which is a bit much.

My game officially has an artist! Apparently we're even going to have preliminary sketches next week! Lauren Brown is amazing. She did the art for the recent Kickstarter project Deck of Wonders, and I'm so excited someone that amazing is going to be drawing amazing doggos for me. http://www.labillustration.com/gallery/516010

Sentient Data posted:Update on Budding Heroes, over 1.5 tons of cardboard, paper, and plastic are officially incoming! Oh wow that's super exciting! Hopefully it doesn't end up in the middle of the ocean somewhere like what happened with Asmadi games this past week. https://twitter.com/AsmadiGames/status/1334620059168350214 In less terrifying news, I now have 6 doggos to share! All currently playable doggos have been given colorful life! My artist is amazing and I love her.

Updated my TTS mod with the color art and such. All placeholder card templates, but the dog art is final. Sans Cerberus who was shamefully stolen from Hades until we get their art from my artist. It's so exciting seeing it coming together like this. I can't wait to get a real prototype copy printed with the final art and templates.

Heckin Hounds' pre-kickstarter marketing campaign has begun and I couldn't be more excited. We have a website, a mailing list, and a facebook group. https://heckinhounds.com/ It's been so long in the making, I'm kind of freaking out that it's actually starting to happen.

I just got the tentative date for my kickstarter and I'm kind of freaking out but I'm mostly crazy excited SkeletonHero posted:So I've finally got an RPG to the point where I would like to open it up for public playtesting. This is completely new territory for me. It currently exists as a Google Doc, but is there a better format I should be using? Is there any kind of copyright considerations I need to be aware of? Playtesting is kind of the wild west, but generally as long as you have a Copyright (c) 2021 SkeletonHero at the top of the PDF you're good to go. Like potatocubed said, the odds of someone stealing your work are pretty slim. The hard part is actually finding playtesters and getting good feedback. I don't know much about how to do that on the RPG front of things, but I wish you the best!

Len posted:I still haven't gotten to try your game but as soon as James posts that it's live you both have my money Ping me on their discord, and if no one else is around I can at least do a two player demo of the game. I've been spending the last few days rewriting and perfecting my rules document. I really want this to be as good as possible before the Kickstarter launches.

My Kickstarter date was announced as June 22nd and the Kickstarter video is available on Facebook. https://fb.watch/63JszzJbc4/ I'm really happy with how everything turned out. It's amazing seeing professional voice acting and animation set to my card game. It makes it feel more real than I ever expected at this point.

I've been working on several designs since Heckin Hounds is finally available for sale, the furthest along of which is "Oops, All Bangers!" It's a mixtape making game where you request songs from your friends to help fill your mixtape. Think apples to apples with a gamey card drafting twist. It's playtesting really really well, and I'm nailing down the rules and balancing the final scoring mechanisms. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZYK3zJTQGeFTKyMUP09XNWXMNCOosSHNZ30vhXjAx44/edit#heading=h.pz8v3b624gs3

I went to Protospiel St. Louis this past weeakend and got a bunch of work done on my weird satirical anti-cryptocurrency thematic sequel to Heckin Hounds. The bad dogs have gotten into cyptocurrency. But they're dumb bad dogs, so they want bones in exchange for their coins, which are worthless. The player with the most bones at the end of the game wins.
