the rapid revolutions of the washing machine slow down time, much like how superman can reverse it by flying around the planet really fast

Goons Are Gifts

As with all laundry, it entirely depends on how fast you wait.

I have this problem. My dryer says “60 minutes left” and then 10 minutes later it says something like “30 minutes left”

I’ve tried to explain math to it but I don’t think it’s listening.

Thank you for the beautiful sig Machai!

Your washer was meant to be paired with my dryer cos together the math might work out!

It's going by the moisture in the air drawn from the drum. if the clothes were well spun or dryer than expected then it will show a lower time after a few minutes. However, my washer is weird in that a 60 minute load will extend itself by double... I don't understand the mechanism by which it does that.

This is a good explanation but why are my clothes still wet when it stops?

Also I think the washer had "cotton" and "casual"

If you buy the premium dryer you get two more settings: normal and average

my washer has 3 settings, "wash," "washer," "washest"

whereas my dryer lets you select either "it was when you put it in" or "you'd ideally like"

This is it, we've finally solved the mystery.

Also, their code needs better linting.

How does it smell?

Like laundry detergent

my dryer has a single control knob, labeled with regular, medium, air dry, energy, and cool down

i basically just turn the knob without looking and hope it works out

edit: the manual says that the energy setting is short for "energy preferred" but i still have no idea if that means less heat or more heat over a shorter time or what

edit 2: i should also add that all of these settings are duplicated on the knob twice, for "timed" on one half and "air" on the other, i guess my dryer can dry things using something other than air???

yes, i spend 80% my time being confounded by ordinary household appliances and wandering around feeling like i've just suffered a concussion

everyone should do this, operating under the assumption that every basic thing in your home will not work is a great stress reduction

The washer in my building pulls this nonsense, too, but the dryer is mostly honest and aboveboard in all its dealings.

Bought a new brain washing machine but the settings are "manchurian" "monarch" "ultra" and "hypnotoad" but the manual is mostly emojis and magic eye images so I might have to just return it.
