Are XFL players getting paid as contractors with no benefits?

no, they are all contracted by the league. minimum salary is $3k/wk in season and $1,500/wk during camp, plus win bonuses, and the league will cover health insurance for players. PAPN did a whole episode about the XFL and said that Vince is putting money in and little else.

i might head to a Battlehawks game if I can free up time, apparently they've sold something like 8,000 season tickets and really have marketed themselves well.
