Don't know if this is true but apparently the Wildcats game had more than a Chargers game

Some games are going to be in FS1 in a few weeks, yes? Will that tank ratings?

looks like one game a week starting next week will be on fs1

still better than the aaf where most games were on channels with even less availability

That appears to actually be within a couple thousand of a sellout in DC.

17k in MetLife is like 1/5 capacity and might look kind of hilarious this afternoon.

Still, stadium size aside, that seems pretty good.

Keep in mind it’s a Vince McMahon production. You can subtract 25% from any attendance numbers announced.

More to the point I imagine "attendance" and "tickets sold" numbers will get mixed up and Day 1 tickets probably had some extra novelty, especially if they were real cheap. Attendance/sales a few weeks in is probably a more meaningful thing.

The Chargers play in a tiny stadium, but it’s larger than that, and it pretty much always sells out and fills up. It just doesn’t sell out and fill up with Chargers fans.

WE ARE SMART
Vince seems to be very willing to play the long game here. The XFL is almost certainly operating at a huge loss right now, their broadcast rights for this year (and maybe more? I dunno) were signed away to the networks for free, Vince must just be accepting the loss for now and banking on the TV ratings being good so they can negotiate a good deal in the future.

Honestly, we could list Vince McMahon's failings for days but the most relevant point would seem to be that he's spent the last 40 years trying to start second businesses off the WWF/E and failing spectacularly every single time.

But like... I'm sure he figured it out now.

It’s explicitly not, which is why it has at least a small chance of being good

Dumb jokes aside for a moment, I’m actually having fun watching these Sunday games.

I just wish half the games weren’t on Saturdays while I’m at work.

Yeah, they're not trying to directly rival the NFL this time around, but be a supplament to it. I think it has a chance of succeeding but we'll see after the AAF fell apart.

Hell, even the week 2 dropoff will be very telling if it will be actually a thing going forward.

I also get why they are doing both Saturday and Sunday, but I wish it was just one day.
