Don't know if this is true but apparently the Wildcats game had more than a Chargers game

That appears to actually be within a couple thousand of a sellout in DC. 17k in MetLife is like 1/5 capacity and might look kind of hilarious this afternoon. Still, stadium size aside, that seems pretty good.

Keep in mind it’s a Vince McMahon production. You can subtract 25% from any attendance numbers announced.

More to the point I imagine "attendance" and "tickets sold" numbers will get mixed up and Day 1 tickets probably had some extra novelty, especially if they were real cheap. Attendance/sales a few weeks in is probably a more meaningful thing.

Vince seems to be very willing to play the long game here. The XFL is almost certainly operating at a huge loss right now, their broadcast rights for this year (and maybe more? I dunno) were signed away to the networks for free, Vince must just be accepting the loss for now and banking on the TV ratings being good so they can negotiate a good deal in the future.

does that net worth account for the 20% (46% YTD) drop in stock price WWE suffered in the last week because vince impulsively fired his two company presidents ahead of a dismal earnings report

Honestly, we could list Vince McMahon's failings for days but the most relevant point would seem to be that he's spent the last 40 years trying to start second businesses off the WWF/E and failing spectacularly every single time. But like... I'm sure he figured it out now.
