quote:I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season." Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection. beliver in slow, incremental social change: "wow yeah, martn luther king was a great man"

Heartache is powerful, but democracy is *subtle*. Incrementally, you begin to notice a change in the weather. When it snows, the flakes are softer when they stick to your worry-worn forehead. When it rains, the rain is warmer. Democracy is coming to the Administrative Region. The ideals of Dolorian humanism are reinstating themselves. How can they not? These are the ideals of the Coalition and the Moralist International. Those guys are signal blue. And they're not only good -- they're also powerful. What will it be like, once their nuanced plans have been realized?

The Kingdom of Conscience will be exactly as it is now. Moralists don't really *have* beliefs. Sometimes they stumble on one, like on a child's toy left on the carpet. The toy must be put away immediately. And the child reprimanded. Centrism isn't change -- not even incremental change. It is *control*. Over yourself and the world. Exercise it. Look up at the sky, at the dark shapes of Coalition airships hanging there. Ask yourself: is there something sinister in moralism? And then answer: no. God is in his heaven. Everything is normal on Earth.

I am personally affronted by those who have consistent principles that they refuse to compromise for the sake of expedience. I feel deep-seated and unconcealed resentment towards those that haven't achieved success, for making me briefly question the fairness of both capitalism and the world in general. I genuinely believe that I am a good, moral person.

You might say that we are driving off the cliff at top speed. You might scream "pull over!", "stop" or cause a similar childish tantrum. Perhaps you might even suggest that we leave the car, jump out of the moving vehicle if you have to. This is simple alarmism, pay no heed to it. The car is good, we only got this far thanks to the car.

listen we just can't pass single-payer healthcare at this time, we can't afford it and will take too much political capital. this affordable care act will pave the way for it down the road a few decades with market based solutions. you idiots arguing against it are standing in the way of progress, this is the best thing we can do right now and we'll eventually ratchet upwards, but not right now, lets just pass this and then wait
