Fun fact, the culinary workers union was responsible for MMA's blacklist in NYC for around 10 years or so. This was done entirely to spite the UFC's ownership. At that time, they were owned by Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta who own the Station chain of casinos. They contract out their culinary workers and no one at their properties is a union worker. The CWU tried to use the NY laws as a cudgel to open the Fertitta casinos to the union. Frank and Lorenzo sold the UFC to WME-IMG a few years ago and this was mooted, so MMA is now legal in NY.
