They literally have an episode where a black child is gunned down by police for no reason. That's political.

Its Only Sunny is only political because its a condensed sitcom reflection on the normal life of the lower class of employed Americans :ssh:

That sounds exactly like the way you’d want to communicate to Michigan auto workers. Biden is a republican in all but name and is going to do nothing but vague gestures towards gun control.

“You’re full of poo poo” was actually the perfect response there

  • Endorsing the “better things aren’t possible” candidate will feel like a betrayal to the people who backed Bernie.
  • Bernie has no way of enforcing leftwards promises by the Biden camp
  • The Biden camp will personally lose money by implementing even the benign policies
  • All concessions are therefore meaningless if not a net negative

Biden has to himself learn AND THEN somehow convince his donors that they need to push reform so that he can do the bare minimum required to earn socialist voters.

Academia medical research goons: It’s because people have gotten fatter (less starving? Food scarcity!) over 150 years and don’t need to keep their body temperature as high to maintain good activity thanks to consistent caloric intake and reliable layers of fat and muscle.

Bullshit - the reason why Bidens and the Clintons of the world exist is because there's a large part of the democratic base that favor that type of candidate. The primaries reflect that very fact and the challenge for the democrat party is how to reconcile that some of these voices are now in deeply R states. Fister Roboto et. al are like the tea party of the republicans wanting to be so far right of mainstream Rs. Except, somehow, the far right was actually able to get their candidate to the general in 2016. So far, the progressive left is just a bunch of poo poo posting on the internet while the rank and file largely fall inline under Biden at the ballot box.

And the "large part" of the democratic base doesn't effect my personal vote. the DNC establishment can suck my left nut if they think I'm going to vote for Biden just because he's a democrat. He's so far appeared to be a spineless, conservative, sexist old white dude.

The progressive left have been active at the local level and gaining ground. The national level is going to hell in a handbasket because of the assumption that Biden will get votes for being not-Trump

The point he's trying to make is that Biden needs to make some sort of visible effort at promoting policies that will actually help people.

And not just accept that any policy will help people more than trump is, because thats a bullshit argument despite it being a factual truth.

Status quo is a fucker, but to say there is no difference between generic Democrats and Trump/GOP is to be willfully ignorant.

If there is truly no difference, you’re saying a Trump supporter equals a Democrat voter.

I acknowledge that there is a difference. That doesn't mean Biden should just coast to the general without fighting for a majority of voters by courting them with policies they care about. Legalizing marijuana would be a great literal fig leaf to gain him a huge segment of voters. March is not the point to circle the wagons and ask every breathing adult to just accept a half assed canidate just because he's less worse.

To add some more supporting anecdotes: On a submarine we tossed a thousand eggs in a pantry just sitting on pallets that lasted for 3-4 weeks unrefrigerated. Eggs last a long drat time. The pantry was also a ~60 degree humidity controlled space with low oxygen + they were brown eggs (last much longer) + Really good air filtering prevents airborne bacteria from having a chance to piece the shell.

Most peoples fridges are filthy and bacteria ladden because people are terrible but they're saved by the cold in the end anyway

I am outraged at capital and politics, and it keeps surprising me at how much more I can muster on top of what has already been building

On one hand I can't see how healthcare workers and EMTs are going to get paid what they are owed without a strike, and on the other I can understand why the people who work in healthcare are not the sort of people to put themselves over the people they help which means a strike really can't happen.
