I just got back from canvassing. It was a little rough at first but it got better. Although I'm an incredibly white guy with probably one of the most stereotypically Irish names and I canvassed a black working class neighborhood. Most people were at church or work. I managed to move one old lady from committed to Biden to maybe Bernie. Shits going to work if we volunteer instead of getting blackpilled on a gay dead comedy forum

Knocked doors for six hours. Some strong Bernie support, some "undecided" psyching themselves up to vote Biden for *electability*. I tried to steer them back, but I dunno... Some people are genuinely terrified of a second Trump term. If people who otherwise would be supporting Bernie throw this to Biden out of fear of Trump, which won't happen, it'll be monumentally sad.

finally got a small batch of texts one guy asked what bernies platform is in regards to free food and seemed genuinely impressed when i explained all the ways bernies plans would decrease the relative value of food to the point it might as well be free

I can't stress enough how important canvassing is. I have johnson county (the really wealthy suburbs of KC on the KS side) tags on my car. And like I could understand why they would have been suspicious about a white guy walking through their neighborhood at 10 am on a sunday knocking on doors. Even then though, once I got one lady to start discussing medicare for all (my #1 issue) I was able to get her from being definitely biden and dismissive of me to her saying "I might just vote for Sanders" and telling me who else to canvass in the neighborhood. If my suburban white rear end can go into a working class black neighborhood and come out with at least 1 changed mind then anyone can do it. I'm a fuckin dork with a clipboard!

One hour on the phone for Bernie just then. Four in the bag for Bernie (each bringing 2+ friends). A few polite declines, about 20 answering machines and wrong numbers, and one thing (which I can only assume is some sort of AI bot) where a guy was trying to buy a car in the background and only came back into the call whenever I spoke. Will be waking up early tomorrow to do some before work. Thanks for those who provided assistance on how O/S people could dial in.

talk matters, talk to everyone about the injustices that our modern political system enables, friends, family, neighbors, people you meet in the grocery store. regardless of bernie's electoral success, humanity's survival relies on a mass movement against capitalist hegemony. The campaign makes phone banking as easy as following a flowchart, and once you have a positive experience on the phone you'll have a high greater than anything else in the world except for drugs. got crippling depression? Then support bernie with your labor. Graphic designer? make flyers. Good at cooking? feed volunteers. Local music tastemaker? make playlists for events. only through united labor can humanity succeed! I know it's hard as poo poo, if i'm not working i just want to be in bed. Texted a bunch yesterday, the initial nerves are totally gone and now I'm having a blast. I will again today after work, looking forward to it. It's interesting hearing how people respond. From what I can see, those who aren't on board with Our Bernard (and aren't Trump idiots, lol Florida) are not excited at all about voting for Biden. No one has enthusiastically said HELL YES JOE BIDEN 2020, it's just... ehhh, I guess Joe Biden? kind of responses. I wonder how that'll change as more and more mainstream media are questioning his fitness. Meanwhile Bernie has a loving heart attack and comes back even stronger than he was before.

The two options are going to be socialism or reactionary fash. The work you put in between might be enough to push someone in the correct direction

That was lame but still did a little door-knocking instead and had a good time at the planned after party. A documentry team following the campaign around even interviewed me.
