There was never gonna be relegation but one of the biggest selling points of the AAF was how since they were directly associated with the NFL they wouldn’t be like all the other foolish failed spring leagues and had legit financial and institutional backing but lmao turns out it was basically all a scam.

Who could have guessed that the guy that couldn't buy a partnership in the Vikings in 2005 and defaulted on his minority ownership in the team, wouldn't be able to help finance a football league.

Never thought I'd be talking about Anthony Becht in 2022. He coached one season as a tight end coach in the AAF and that's all his coaching experience. I have doubts.

apparently tampa/ny/la were xfl 2.0's bottom 3 in attendance

That never surprises me. You have so much else to do, why would anyone even bother with these minor league football teams in NY/LA. Should have gotten a Philly team in there though. If the tickets are cheap enough you can always get people to show up in Philly.

3 teams in Texas, with teams in St Louis, Orlando and Vegas. Oh so they are trying to be regional to save expenses on traveling.

Also a team in DC and Seattle.

WTF?

A team in San Diego would have at least made more sense then Seattle.

Wasn't Foster run out of the NFL because he couldn't stop getting arrested?

Take your pick, he pretty much did everything possible to be run out of the league. The 49ers waived him, everyone thought he was going to clear waivers, and then Washington of course claimed him. They got like a month of bad press about it. So of course they kept him, and when he was finally off suspension, he tore his ACL and LCL during his first practice.

He never played for Washington, who didn't pick up his option.

I miss Arena Football and it's a lot cheaper with the smaller rosters and running in Arenas. The only reason they died is they got obsessed with running in bigger markets instead of staying in smaller markets for 3-5 years until the locals weren't interested and moving to a new town and starting the cycle over
