Problem description: I was upset my computer was performing poorly in an online game, and I looked up that disabling certain services can improve performance. I very stupidly disabled ALL services, then hit restart. Now when I try to login to Windows 10 with my usual PIN, it says incorrect password. Attempted fixes: I have tried to create a USB Recovery Boot drive with another laptop, but the only USB drive I have available isn't the required 8 gigs. I thought to use my phone as a bootable USB, but in order to do that, I need to Root my phone and I don't know anything about that and am scared to do that. I have tried holding down ALT-F10 on startup, but attempting to do a recovery or restore Windows to a previous setting asks for a password, which says is incorrect. Recent changes: I disabled all services in Windows 10. I know that was dumb. Operating system: Windows 10 Home. System specs: Acer Predator Helios 300 - i7, 16 gigs of Ram, GTX 1060. Location: Thailand. But the Laptop was bought in the US. I have Googled and read the FAQ: Yes

On a whim I tried some old password in the Windows Recovery screen and it let me restore Windows to a previous state. So, lessons learned: 1) Don't be lazy when messing around with computer settings and disable everything at once without knowing what that does. 2) It was not asking for my PIN, but some Password I don't remember setting.
