well let's see: linux is better than bsd, but sqlite is better than mysql. httpd is better than apache, but ocaml is better than c. so i'd say it's a wash

Seems like it might be easier if you were selecting from the people who already know git instead of the people that already know CVS. Keeping in mind I'm a dumbass, aren't there additional security benefits with distributed vc like git over vc with a central repo like CVS? For a distro so focused on security it seems like that would matter. I don't have a dog in this fight except for 'learning new version control software' being a hard no for any side project

git happened because of linux's particular distributed style of work. 99% of people who use git do not use it as a distributed version control system except in the sense of "i downloaded the repo"
