This is lengthy but seems relevant. As far as Tucker himself goes, he was a dissident conservative type back in the day, but bootlicking seems to be a lot better for him.

In his early career (CNN's Crossfire) He was basically a NIMBY libertarian, almost Charlie Kirk esque in 2005. Then he got so owned by Jon Stewart that his show got cancelled like two days later:
