lol, nah. The right choice is to do what is best for yourself and your family. You are not going to be the one to make the difference in saving this country and it's probably not savable either way. Bug out if you can.

this. it’s like saying VOTE!

it’s a real poo poo thing for supposed “leftists” to shame and yell at Ecuadorian or Syrian refugees who went to America or Europe or some gay person who went from Kentucky to NYC that they should have just stayed put and fix things instead of seeking a better life for them and their families. real evil thing to do

you should do what’s best for your mental (and physical) health for your family and yourself

smdh at “leftists” advocating for super closed borders and telling everyone they should be rooted by the circumstances of their birth

only thing really tethering me here at this point is I have no idea how I’m gonna get my complete spaz of a dog across the pacific

It'll prob be a bit expensive but you can buy a seat on a plane for a dog and give them some doggo valium stuff to get through the airport and just sleep on the plane. check with the airliner but most take dogs they just require purchasing a cabin seat. do not fly them in cargo. there's also probably some paperwork that's not going to be cheap but your vet should know which forms/documentation needs to be prepped. may also be a quarantine period when you arrive.

alternatively there used to be some boat services where you could rent cabin space on certain cargo ships but it'll take awhile.

I’ve wondered occasionally but never looked into this: what do people with dog/cat allergies do when said animals are allowed in the cabin? is everyone such aware they might sit next to a dog?
either ask a crew member and they'll re-seat you or re-book you if they can't re-seat. generally, extreme allergies are rare and cabin air sucks so much poo poo being desiccated out that everyone is stuffy and miserable all the time anyways so it's really haerd to tell or feel anything different. like you aren't actually barred form eating nuts on a plane and there could be people with nut allergies but it's so extremely rare that you'd go into anaphalytic shock just having someone eat nuts on a plane that it just doesn't come up. unlike what movies/tv depict about people with X allergies, usually it's touch/ingestion based and often more mild to moderate discomfort at lowish exposures -- so it's extremely rare that it doesn't come up much afaik
