i'm not sure cs gets that being incredibly selfish is a bad thing he comes off as someone who's not fully aware that other people are real. like intellectually he understands it, he just doesn't get it. so being told that his experiences aren't the only objective truth by which all human existence should be governed just confuses him, because he's the centre of the universe
