I am a Swedish pizza eater. AMA.

* They will slice your pizza if you ask
* Restaurants i Sweden actually have metal cutlery. You get a knife and fork with your pizza.
* Some people eat pizza with a knife and fork. Some do like I do and use the provided knife to cut the pizza into slices myself and then eat them using my hands
* You can get a pineapple and bearnaise pizza, most people opt for the saner ones.
* Most common pizza is the very boring Capriciosa: cheese, ham and mushrooms.
* Really bad pizza places use canned mushrooms. Bleh.
* The 9-yo in my family orders a pizza with pineapple, corn, curry powder and no cheese. This is not common.

The bananas needs to be balanced by something savoury. A common version here is with ham or bacon and curry powder. Sound weird, but it actually works.

Sweden, what else?

Hmm, a Christmas buffet pizza! :sweden:

My guesses, clockwise: Dopp i grytan (brown bread soaked in ham broth), boiled red cabbage with vinegar, ham and mustard, prinskorv (pork sausage), prosciutto (for some reason), potatoes au gratin, prosciutto again (what?), center: meatballs with beetroot and mayo salad.

Prosciutto doesn't really belong on a Christmans buffet, and it's missing pickled herring, lutefisk and sweet rice porridge.

Places that still use canned mushrooms always have a table where the local drunks sit all day. Beer is slightly more expensive at the fancy places where the mushrooms are fresh and you can get things like arugula and goat cheeese pizza.

It's two slices of unsweet Swedish crisp bread and a shelf stable cheese filling. The cheese is soft cheese, like cheese whizz. There are different fillings, like tomato basil, chives, sour cream & onion etc. As a snack, it's bland, but cromulent.

It's a snack food for when you are desperate to eat anyting, and don't want a candy bar.
