I didn't make any of the Honeycomb Throttle Quadrant pre-order windows. Looks like the 1st batch will be getting shipped end of this month and the 6th batch will be in week 49 of the year. drat...the more i play the more I wish i had a physical trim wheel.

The throttle quadrant got pre-orders available just a few weeks ago and according to their site they sold out their throttles through basically the end of the year basically. Or like, end of November. I wouldn't bank on getting that honeycomb throttle til at least the new year.

I've never seen a formal announcement from them but this tweet which was posted a couple weeks ago showed flight pedals from Honeycomb. I honestly haven't even played in a couple months because I was hovering in the 15-25 fps because the card I have as a placeholder is like 6 years old. I was really hoping we'd see a restock of cards around now but it seems like its just not going to happen til early next year.

I knew the video card would be hard to come by but I honestly and stupidly assumed we'd see more trickle into the marketplace by Christmas. I was wrong.

I haven't seen a 3070 or 3060 available yet though. Since the 3070 launched I've had that card multiple times in my checkout basket but everytime its errored out and then on the refresh they're sold out. I kind of gave up after a while and am just going to wait and if i'm online when a drop happens so be it.

It would seem that the honeycomb throttle quadrant may be taking new orders at the beginning of February. The site lists them as sold out but with a new notice saying all orders placed will ship by February 6th and I've noticed other re-sellers listing new orders being available in mid march...so here's hoping we get a shot at a preorder soon.

I just looked up my EVGA queue. You can get in a queue for any EVGA video card and cross referenced it with some reddit google docs where you can kind of get a vague idea where you're at. I am in a Queue for a 3070 card and have been in it since October 29th. Still haven't heard back from EVGA but I'm certainly in the rough time frame where I could in theory hear from them that I can order a card now...which gives you an idea of how backlogged they are.

If anyone is on the video card hunt newegg has been doing the raffle thing the past couple days and they are decoupled from bundles now. So you have a shot at getting a 3070 or 3080. In fact a friend of mine just got one yesterday in the raffle so it can actually work!

I think I'm going to start playing Flight Sim again and just have to fly with low settings on. I was hoping I'd get a video card but it just looks like its not going to happen anytime soon. I am looking forward to crashing my Cessna repeatedly in dangerous weather.

I got that email too and its disappointing but not at all surprising. There was a bloomberg article recently about how covid really hosed up supply chains, production, microchip shortages etc. Basically everything its being effected by the hard shutdown that many countries had to go through including and specifically China. Things like video game console shortages are expected to exist through this coming holiday season. It really sucks. I've been basically unable to play Flight Sim since launch outside of at 15fps because I haven't been able to get even get a chance to buy a video card since September. Multiple times I've had them in my cart but then I timeout or they sellout. Hoping I get lucky with a throttle quadrant when they resupply.

I secured a 3060Ti this weekend. OH MY GOD THE GAME RUNS SO GOOD NOW. I built a pc back in August and haven’t been able to run this game at higher than 20fps. Oh my god I’m crying.

Now I have most settings on high or ultra and I'm pretty much a rock solid 30 though on testing a few cities it will drop into around 25fps or so when you say make a bank turn and a large new skyline is there or something but then it kind of normalizes. I have a Ryzen 7 3700x and 32 gigs of ram. I just was stuck using a 970GTX as a placeholder card since September and haven't been able to acquire a new video card until now. I'm going to mess with settings and check out some more youtube videos this week on what I can do to mess with visual quality but it just looks and feels so good right now just to be at 30FPS

Didn't they also kill updrafts or something? I remember reading that somewhere...was it in this thread? I think the glaring issues becoming as glaring as they are with weather because it gets so much right but also looks really good.
