I finally received a package I was mailed on the 14th of December, 2020 (not AI:SS related). It came in a nice plastic envelope from the USPS Hazmat department, because apparently one of the shipments in its bin leaked. I hope the package I sent out didn't get near any leaking hazmat and will eventually be delivered.

edit to note: not ai:ss related, but USPS on the east coast is a mess right now.

A Small Car's package went something like this:

December 2: Left Copenhagen
December 4: Arrived in Chicago.
December 17: Made it to the southern US and delivered to recipient.

I think the USPS is turbo hosed right now. Give it time.

Well, well, well, Mr. freelop. We meet again. (I was your Santa in 2014. drat, time flies.)

But before we proceed, I'd like to take a moment and thank our MVP, slothrop. Not only did slothrop arrange AI:SS for fifty goons who can't really follow simple instructions, he also generously donated to charity, and sent top shelf booze to fellow Australians.

Anyways, a package finally made it:

Inside, many gifts!

Individually and lovingly wrapped in roarsome paper, I might add:

And an envelope!

Gotcha!

Well, let's start.

Genuine British dicks!

Hobnobs!

(Miliseconds after opening it, my three-year-old exclaimed "I love Hobnobs!" I assure you he's never heard about them before, but it was apparently love at first sight. Then he proceeded to polish off three of them.)

An ornament!

(My kid put it on the tree before I could photograph it.)

Marmite!

I'll give it another shot, but last time my tastebuds complained quite a bit...

Chocolate!

A model of a very fast car! Boat!

Best I can deduce is that it's the Bluebird K7, and that's a pretty AI read. I had to hold it still, as my kid immediately set a new speed record with it.

Finally, a very nice card and some stickers, and (not shown) some tea and a pin.

And the best part:

freelop, thank you so much! I hope you've had a great Christmas, and a good NYE. I'll make sure to do as instructed, and take a genuine tea and biscuits break. Pretend I'm Nik Blackhurst for a bit.

E: What's the discolored valve looking thing?

Oh good, I'm glad it arrived safely. I started to panic when the tracking info said the package address was corrected and then it started going in the exact opposite direction :derp:

The valve thing is just some titanium aerospace fastener junk, the bucket photo is :perfect:

I waited until my wife was away before cooking this up:

-I actually laughed out loud when I poured out the can. Why is it so watery? Why does it smell like cloves?
-Weiners were too small for my buns, more room for chili!
-I was going to put on some fancy dijon but opted for Heinz grade mustard instead for authenticity
-Should have put on more cheese

It was an experience, I did finish off the chili the next day so it might have grown on me. My wife was horrified but she loved the Esther Price chocolates. The beer was excellent, I'm not a hop forward kind of guy but I really liked the other ones too. Thanks again Honda Whisperer and McTinkerson!

Humphreys gave the context for waiting for a mate, the other one on that sheet is a quote from Russell Coight's All Aussie Adventures which was a parody bushcraft/adventure TV show in Australia for a while:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqsX2aEAHzE

The animal next to the "Trash Panda" sticker is a quokka, native to a little island near Perth. The Fort Droopy sticker is a bit of an oddity, that's a group of race fans that set up camp on Mount Panorama each year. They were the only group I saw that were producing their own merch so I had to give them props for the hustle.

My package left on the 18th, got to the local processing center on the 20th, and got two states over by the 21st. It then took three days to make it out, so it left the regional on the 24th, and was "in transit to next station" until the 4th. It's now (at least) in the correct state, and says "in transit to destination" so maybe by Inaguration Day.

This year I had a significant number of people offer to help pay for extra presents. Sadly we didn't have a lot of takers so I hatched a plan. I asked those who offered to pay for extra gifts to instead donate money. I included these extremely generous donations with my own $5-a-head donation and nominated AI regular T-Square as the recipient. As I understand it, T-Square's 2020 has been shittier than most.

Happy (belated) Holidays T-Square. Go buy some weed or take your girlfriend out for a nice dinner or pay off some bills or do whatever makes you happy. Enjoy it and here's hoping to a better 2021 for you and your loved ones.

As far as I know, donors have requested anonymity, if you haven't, please speak up! I'd like to thank everyone who helped make this portion of AI:SSmas come true.

A package appeared, battered but intact!

What could be inside?

Air fresheners, a lovely be-dicked note and a 10mm socket, for starters!

But wait, there's more!

A nice set of flashlights and a head lamp, all of which will be very useful.

I do still have a VCR that will hopefully not eat this tape. These little grabber things seem well-made and quite clever, but the label on their bag offered no clues as to their purpose.

Thanks again, CornHolio, and to slothrop for organizing this! This was a great way to end 2020, and in my case, start the new year.

Kids tore through it pretty quick and I didn't manage a photo of everything. Hot wheels? F yes, and if that city turbo II doesn't have a tiny motocompo scooter in the back then I will make one. The Canadian snacks are awesome, that coffee crisp is my new favorite. I have zero clue on the airbox, I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and say something old and air-cooled, maybe a Saab? Also I think those nylon fasteners are the same size as the ones I break anytime I touch a modern car, so hopefully they will contribute to a rattle-free future. Thanks for all the goodies!

edit - the hot wheels city turbo II does indeed have a motocompo scooter molded into the trunk interior and it has brought me an unreasonable amount of joy

The little grabber things are just that, little grabber things. The Easy Riders VHS was a thing a friend's dad had that I somehow was given and it's just been laying around. Could be junk, could be a modern Ben Hur. Do with it what you will. Hope the flashlights are useful - you'd mentioned you could use a decent set and those seemed decent enough.

I don't think the airbox would be from a Saab. I found it in a trash pile at the farm that has a lot of stuff from around the 30s and 40s. I'd have to hazard a guess it's something from that era.

Other car bits, including a genuine JDM bolt, a bulb and a badge from a Laser (RIP to your Laser)
Earpugs!

A rad little set of keyring type things, the piston is really heavy duty
Earplugs!

NZ street legal

L&P flavored lumps that I've already started devouring and a peanut chocolate slab that's next

The sidecutters have been pressed into service already snipping bits of plastic spru.

Arrived at Facility

CANADA

Shipping has been real fun this holiday season.

A mystery package arrived from the land of freedom today.

This has been a fun time of internet people getting together. The dick drawn inside was a bit droopy.

Inside were many nice things including a set of tumblers from a local record store.

There was a box within a box that was a mystery even to the sender.

It is a copy of Midnight Radio which is a graphic novel by Ehud Lavski and Yael Nathan. My wife claimed the colouring book right away.

The chips are already gone. The voodoo tasted just like all dressed chips which are not normally found outside of Canada. Kettle chips with that flavour are a great combo, might have to suggest that to Mrs Vickies.

I happen to have a tear drop trailer that we use the rear hatch as a sticker wall so more art work for that is always nice.

The bees are a nice touch. Mine are snuggled away for the winter.

I might actually be able to use the i7 engineering sample. I had been thinking about upgrading my only desktop and I think it has a similar vintage i5 so the CPU might be a drop in replacement.

Thanks Toplitzin
