On the other hand "this is the most important election of our lives" is going to be a tough sell after yet another four years of neoliberal austerity and no outlet for complete alienation from social and political life in this country for everyone who isn't a billionaire. Traditionally this is the part of the collapse where being able to provide armed escort to get your voters to the polls and keep them from being attacked by enemy partisans starts to become an important part of the get out the vote efforts.

Hint: nope.
