He’s growing on me. I am pretty confident Dems are gonna get blown out in the midterms regardless but I’d like to see him make a run of it https://twitter.com/johnfetterman/status/1330198128419541000?s=21 👍 GalacticAcid has issued a correction as of 18:22 on Nov 21, 2020 |

“I’m like Radiohead for donors — you can’t really explain why I’m good but everyone knows that I’m good at it,” McElwee shouted over the din of bar talk at one of his happy hours on a recent evening in New York City. “The thing I try to say is, ‘Look, I don’t know what to tell you, I wrote a report on the Green New Deal three months before the Green New Deal was a thing. I tweeted about abolish ICE before abolish ICE was a thing. I loving raised $850,000 for down-ballot candidates from small dollar contributions.’ I’m not sitting around telling you how the gently caress I do it, I don’t have time to do that.”

It won’t matter. Fetterman’s social democratic material pitch to voters will be so convincing that droves of previous non voters will show up to vote for his Policies even though his brain is slush. Please donate to Our Revolution®

there’s gonna be a ton of split ticket votes since Shapiro will run the table while Fetterman gets trounced i’m sure many measured and logical conclusions about electoral strategy will be drawn from this

I’m not even looking to argue or be combative or anything but it’s very wrong to think that a disastrous debate performance wouldn’t sway any voters. I know it seems ridiculous that people would care but they do. The range of possible results is definitely circumscribed by structural facts (hardline partisan blocs, economic performance, gas prices, demographics etc) but candidate quality & campaign performance still matter. But tbh I wrote this race off a long time ago just on the virtues of it being a midterm election w/ a sitting Dem president. So, not the end of the world that he’s blowing it.

I think you’re implying i’m one of those people upset about Lamb for some reason despite the fact that I didn’t care about this primary whatsoever. It is a fantasy you have constructed and I’m not sure why, besides the obvious cheap thrill of deconstructing a straw man. But yea vast majority of voters already hardened into their opinions and intentions. enough are in the middle to either stay home or jump ship to sway it, one way or the other. Not really worth splitting hairs about how that breaks down - but if you could please stop accusing me of supporting Lamb’s primary run I would appreciate it.

you are a total prisoner of your own fantasy world. for one thing i haven’t voted in PA since 2012 lol. not sure if it makes it better or worse that you tell your lies to yourself

I supported his general election run against Saccone in the special election in 2018, that’s it. Bringing it up in any other context is disingenuous.

I don’t think Fetterman is doing any better or particularly worse than Generic Democrat. I suspect he’s helped a bit by Oz being a considerably stranger individual than Generic Republican. If he somehow outpaces Shapiro’s vote haul I will reevaluate.
