Fallout 76 is the latest offering in the Fallout series, which launched after the usual Bethesda hype (including a live-action trailer) in November 2018. At launch, there was widespread derision and criticism at a game that was not only completely devoid of NPCs, but was just as bug-ridden as the last ten years of BGS creations. No dragons flying in reverse here, though. Despite the disastrous launch (and subsequent botched merchandising promotions), some people have taken a liking to the game (and the state of West Virginia has benefited from it to some extent). Fast forward to 2020 and Bethesda has done a LOT to improve the game. People still love to hate it, but the expansions have added a lot to it and made it more enjoyable to those who still like it.

The Wild Appalachia expansion, which added new ways to get your toon drunk, new cryptid-based quests and new dungeons:

Nuclear Winter expansion, Bethesda's obvious attempt at getting a slice of the battle royale pie:

Wastelanders, which brought NPCs back to the game:

Steel Dawn (recent as of this LP), which brought the Brotherhood of Steel back to Appalachia:

There's also an upcoming release called "Scribe of Avalon" which brings in new NPC allies and quality-of-life tweaks.

How This LP Will Be Played

I will create for us a brand new, doe-eyed vault-dweller, who will venture out into the wastes and do her level best to survive out in the post-apocalypse. Use of the CAMP will be limited to basic survival unless dictated by a quest, or to show off some feature of gameplay. Audience participation will be periodically solicited, but if you think there's something I missed or needs doing, don't hesitate to speak up.
