Where are we in the narcissist's prayer here? It happened, but it wasn't that bad?

What was the DA doing in Houston?

Did any of the assaults happen outside of Texas? Any chance he could still be charged in another locality?

I'd have to assume the grand jury inquest can be reopened. Didn't that happen with Adrian Peterson after photos came out?

The Saints we're definitely in on Watson too. For one.

At this point, it seems like the NFL and everyone else is waiting with baited breath for documentary evidence to surface.

Maybe none will come out. I'd assume the NYT might have unearthed some by now if it existed, but why wait until the last possible minute and react to damning evidence? Just issue an indefinite suspension and sort it out later.

Somewhere the Brown's marketing director is burying their head in their hands.

It was reported earlier that Watson had reached a settlement figure of $100k for each vicitm, but didn't want the amount to be confidential so he could say he settled for a low amount.

Gotta wonder how much that figure moved to get 20 women to agree to settlement and have the amount be confidential.

Might be a sign the NFL suspension is coming down soon.

The conduct described isn't surprising to anyone who's followed this story. Robinson's conclusion remains insane.

NFLPA hosed up when they didn't take the league's offer for 12 games and a fine. They probably figure the fix is in at this point. Roger's guy likely isn't going to go easy on Watson.

My point is that if you care about the distinction between next to no punishment, and no punishment, then that’s loving stupid.

You got it! I'm the one that can't distinguish between a six game suspension and a year long suspension. Thanks for posting.

Hmmmm. If they're settling I'm really curious if he even gets the full year. Probably something like 12 games and a $10m fine.

Yeah, time to lower our expectations. I think 12 games and a fine feels most likely.

I saw Mary Kabot tweet that Goodell's designee wasn't waiting on the NFL to reach a settlement, but that's clearly bullshit.

The bengals professed strategy for a backup quarterback in Brandon Allen is a dude that sees the field similarly to him and can help him break down plays on the sideline. Seems kind of dumb Imo. If you want another coach why not just hire another coach? That way you don't need to put that person on the roster. Feels like the unstated thought process there is they feel they're hosed if Joe goes down so they might as well just give Joe his guy.

There's that famous quote from Peyton's time on the Colts that goes:

Ron Jaworski posted:

Jon asked Tom why he wasn't giving some snaps to Peyton's backups. [offensive coordinator Tom] Moore is a man of few words, but when he talks, those words have weight. He looked us both in the eye, paused for a moment, then said in that gravelly voice of his, "Fellas, if '18' goes down, we're hosed. And we don't practice hosed.

No need to worry. The NFL is working hard trying to find the guy who did this.
