Polybius In all, I thought i beat very very few games this year, and while the list has some entries that barely qualify as games (Four sight), there's still a lot of stuff, and a lot of it very good. A great year of gaming.

buffalo all day posted:Ghost of Tsushima (PS5) (main plot) - not sure anyone should bother making another 3rd person open world game after this, which is p much everything I want in one (except let me skip through dialogue in side quests, jesus). Feels like they asked around for what conveniences people want in a game and added all of them. Heard mixed stuff about DLC island but gonna give it a shot. GoT (Iki Island DLC) - perfect DLC imo. Great small-scale plot that feels meaningful and hits a bunch of stuff that’s discussed in the main game but not really dealt with. Cool additional mechanics and duels that honestly could have been saved for a sequel. Felt completely worth it.

Golden Axe II co-op 19. A Golden Wake 20. Golden Axe III co-op 21. Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura 22. Warriors of Fate co-op 23. Persona 4 Golden Probably the last game I beat this year. Totally engrossing but I got a deeply unsatisfying ending so here goes ng+ for first game of '22.

Inscryption Spoiling all my comments because everyone says it's best to go in blind but i'm not really talking about anything specific The story stuff was cool but the actual card game play really didn't grab me, i'm glad I finished it but it was beginning to drag for me by about the halfway mark.

That Little Demon posted:I liked that game growing up. remember lots of car rides playing that when i was a kid my dad randomly came home from work one day and said "hey got you a game" and it was that game. just the cartridge, also somehow the european version so it said hero turtles instead of ninja turtles. its the only time he ever did anything like that and i have no idea how or why he got it

The Forgotten City - All Endings Great game. And that concludes my 2021 as while I got Lost Judgment for Christmas I don't have time to beat it so that will ring in 2022!

Persona 5 Royal (true ending). I actually liked this one a lot even despite some rough patches in the writing and the fact that there were several times that the game nearly got calmly placed in the sock drawer. The one more/baton pass system was a neat spin on SMT's press turn system, I liked a lot of the characters even when the writing kind of let them down sometimes, the dungeons were fun to explore, and balancing them with the social stuff was a cool idea (this is my first Persona so the whole idea is new to me). The story overall wasn't anything special but I liked the concept of the Phantom Thieves and stealing hearts and all that. When I saw how everyone says that 3 and 4 are better I decided to start with this as my first Persona so that there's nowhere to go but up and I'm glad I did.
