Hero of the soviet union.
Accidental destroyer of planets
Journal of King Grey Hunter I. - Part 6 – Tithes, mines and murder.

Summer, Year 7

With no forces, the bandit king Krull takes is tithe of a quarter of all we own.

Autumn, Year 7

The metalworks is completed.

As is the waystation – though I've still got to smooth the walls.

The work cutting through the mountain has also begun.

The masons and tailors are finished as well – people will soon be wearing new cloths!

As I expect a population boom, I order an expansion of the farms.

As well as a new dormitory.

Winter, Year 7

The harsh work seems to have lead to several more deaths – though they are buried so quickly, some may be old age.

Work finally begins on the bath house!

Spring, Year 8

It is finished!

Our first subject washes the filth off in comfort rather than skinny dipping.

Summer, Year 8

The bath house means people flock to the city.

As our population crosses 200 souls, the single small kitchen is not enough to feed everyone.

I order it expanded.

Autumn, Year 8

The passage is finished!

I lay down the start of miner town – better name still pending – a small mine, a warehouse, dormitory, toilet and tavern.

People stream through the shadowy tunnel to get there.

Though the first thing they do on arrival is strip naked and dive into the water. Peasant's eh?

Winter, Year 8

Exposure is still claiming people.

Spring, Year 9

The long commute times are making it slow to finish Minertown, but work is progressing.

Could you guys not kip in the warehouse? Really?

Summer, Year 9

Injuries? The man has been flayed alive? What the hell is going on in our first Satellite settlement?

The village nears completion, and at least it will be fairly self sufficient.

Autumn, Year 8

Minertown is complete! Though it feels exposed out there on its own.

The people are fairly happy, but they are still lacking awe – the city is functional, but not that inspiring a place to live.
Then again, we have been raided.

Do we

A – Look to our own defences.
B – Make this a city worth living in.

(Yeah, I know the answer already.)

The Linke is a party I grudgingly accept exists, but I've learned enough about DDR-history I can't bring myself to trust a party that was once the SED, a party leading the corrupt state apparatus ...

Journal of King Grey Hunter I. - Part 7 – Looking to our defences

Spring, Year 10

How have we been here a decade already! And somehow I have not been guillotined!

A training area goes down.

As does a weaponsmith and a toolsmith.

The Metalsmiths churn out the precious metal.

Training begins.

I have set two divisions, each needing battlegear, and one for each race.

Summer, Year 10

Work is progressing well, and I decide, as we need more buildings, to build our first apartment block.

I also expand the food farms to the walls.

Autumn Year 10

Krulls has returned! - will our 24 poorly trained men be enough?

I don't think so, so this time, I give in to his demands – next time we will be in a better place to end him and his brigands.

Someone dies in the masonry, and everyone pointedly looks in the other direction until the undertaker turns up.

Winter Year 10

The smiths are up and running – weapons to defend ourselves, and tools to make work quicker and easier.

Minertown feels poorly defended, so I order a stone wall built to protect the villagers.

Spring, Year 11

The fruit harvest is brought in, taking us from 9 days food to 12 (That's 3 seasons in game time.)

Summer, Year 11

We have good stocks of tools and battle gear.

I expand the trade area, so we can receive more goods.

Autumn Year 11

Our kitchen is overworked, and now people have gotten used to cooked food, they are angry when it is not available.

I order a new one to be built.

Winter Year 11

We attract our first Krantor! This giant will surely help with all aspects of our land!

When a 300 year old giant called Jarlos Soulcrusher arrives and says hes the new landlord of the pub, you just say yes.

We call it overexposure to keep the family's shame to a manageable level. We never said what it was overexposure to.

Winter leads to a spike in deaths – 8 so far!

A new graveyard will be needed soon.

We are spread more thinly now, but the main problem is that we have so many employed people, the building work is not getting done!

We have enough of an army to defend ourselves.

Our cretonians are happy enough.

Soulcrusher is rapidly questioning his decision to move here.

The Devonians however, are not a happy bunch.

Should I -

A – work to bring up the Awe of the city
B – Work on forming a nobility
C – work on supplying better base needs to my citizens

E: I wonder if "exposure" is just a catch-all for "caught a cold" and stuff.

On an unrelated subject, I think the peasants going for a swim just swaps the sprite for a naked one that's painted blue up to the waist to simulate submerging.

Yeah, but it looks fairly good.
There are near 250, I'll take a few shortcuts.

Journal of King Grey Hunter I. - Part 8 – Krull returns..

Spring, Year 12

I realize I don't have any pelts coming in – and some meat would do wonders for the Dondorian morale.

First I trim some workers to free up builders.

Then order a hunting lodge in Minertown.

Autumn, Year 12

Summer passes peacefully as my peasants build.

The hunters are now working, and meat is back on the menu for the Dondarians.

The expansion to the trade area is finished, and I set it to import cotton, livestock and various foodstuffs.

Winter, Year 12

I order a string of hearths built, as maybe the long walk between towns is causing some issues.

Spring, Year 13

The inclusion of meat seems to be doing something.

So I send orders to build a southern hunting lodge.

Toilets are also a concern, so I order two more built.

With food being mass produced, a second tavern is needed in Minas Baul.

Winter, Year 13

Exposure claims four more lives.

With over half our people “trained” soldiers, I think we can take Krull this time. I'd rather lose some peasants than more goods!
Also, note it is -29C, which will go a long way towards explaining our exposure deaths!

Spring, Year 14

Only 16 men? We could have taken this half-wit years ago! I was to cautious, curse my tentacles! North east is minertown however!

I muster two of our four divisions, this should be plenty to deal with him, I can muster the others elsewhere if the scout reports are inaccurate.

No they are right, I just forgot the difference between east and west!
Ah well, plenty of time!

Through the magic of roads, the most important of military inventions, we are able to cross the land in record time.

We form up to meet the brigands.

Our forces close.

The Dondarian division are engaged first.

When the Cretonians hit the flank it is all over, without loss to ourselves.

Krull escapes, and we will be seeing him again.

Summer, Year 14

Feeling confident, I deactivate the training rooms, so the 24 people who are constantly in there can do something more useful – like work on the half dozen or so incomplete projects scattered around town!

Like the empty shell of apartments that have been sitting around for half a decade!

Autumn, Year 14

44 of our citizens now have better rooms to sleep in!

Winter, Year 14

I notice my people are shortcutting around this bit of mountain, so I build a road there.

Immigration begins again as happiness increases, time to move on to increasing it more.
