I don't know if that happened to me (if it did, it would require surgery to fix), but I do think that area is inflamed. For a couple of weeks after the incident I felt a dull pain when using my right arm whenever the bicep was involved, especially if it was at its full range of motion opposite of laying by my side (wasn't sure how to word this, maybe you could tell)

It's getting better, it doesn't hurt when unloaded now, but I still feel it at the gym or when I have to pick up the baby in her car seat. I made an appointment to get it looked at but this being America means that appointment is in May and will probably just refer me to a specialist I get to wait another couple of months to see. By then it will hopefully be healed.

been doing greyskull for like 3 months now, started to struggle with recovery and just got bored overall with the program so i figured it was time for a change. did my first day of barbell medicine bridge program and felt pretty good. excited to see where i’m at after the 12 weeks or whatever that it runs for.

think after that i wanna start fuckin around with some olympic lifts. they look pretty fun and the explosiveness will probably transfer over to my vertical jump more than just grinding heavy squats have been so far

hey those are almost exactly my numbers! are you still on stronglifts? i switched from greyskull to a barbell medicine program that does more volume and introduces the concept of RPE and i've really enjoyed it

decided to give the barbell medicine powerbuilding template a try and despite the first week being labeled "low stress", day 1 crushed my legs (in my defense i'm coming into this after 2 weeks of no lifting, so i was expecting to feel a little rough). this looks like it'll be a fun program. from what i can tell, the rough idea is to focus strength on the big 3 lifts, then a bunch of volume on a mix of variations of those movements (e.g. RDL or incline bench) plus a different isolation exercise each day. it also incorporates myo-reps which i had never heard of but they sound cool :shrug:

kinda hosed up my already relatively bad knee at volleyball last night. while it was pretty sore and stiff when i woke up, it got better during the day and i was able to deadlift and leg press with no issue. with how i landed it could have been way worse, so i’m pretty lucky even tho it still doesn’t feel great. getting old fuckin sucks, wtf

sorry about your back op, hope it heals quickly! is there a specific reason you’re training deadlift? maybe a different variant or exercise altogether will still target your hams without as much stress on your back. it’s an awesome exercise but it generates an insane amount of fatigue

had to bail halfway through my workout today after i started getting some gnarly shoulder pain that i haven’t felt before. wasn’t even doing anything cool, just high rep db bench press with light weight. that was an hour ago and it feels pretty much fine now, so i’m guessing maybe shoulder impingement and i need to fix my form a little? i was pretty fatigued by the time i started and i was struggling to keep a consistent width between the dumbbells

my knee has been bothering me so i decided to swap my normal squats out for hack squats to see if it helps and good lord my quads are fried. we’ll see how my knee feels in the morning but assuming it feels ok i might just do hack squats for the foreseeable future

saw a personal trainer at my gym doing incline db bench with the smallest ROM i’ve ever seen followed by using one of only two squat racks to do curls (cheating on every rep of course). good to know that’s always an option for a career change since apparently they’ll let anybody be a trainer

decided to shuffle my workouts around a little this week and try something different. i’m still doing a 4 day per week upper/lower split, but i’m doing biceps and triceps MWF to up the frequency a bit. wednesday is exclusively arms, so i can really pile on some volume. i feel like i’m recovering well, i just need to move some lifts around to different days to account for my triceps being a little fatigued still
