naruto is actually pretty good at the beginning, you can see why it took off i do think akira toriyama is a master of the art though so watch or read dragonball even super is pretty good and shows he's still got it imo. i love that nerds spent decades working out power level lists and rankings and he comes in and goes "no the most powerful thing is a dog that shoots ki blasts from his feet" or "super saiyan god vegeta is being owned by a tellytubby woman powered by love"

the invincible guy was posting on deviantart when i was a kid on there i remember even as a kid i thought his art was good but the comic was boring, just superheros punching eachother but then blood comes out

People get weird about anime coz it's surrounded by pedo stuff and weird poo poo in a way that batman or marvelboy aren't I don't ask for manga reccomendations anymore coz adtrw was talking about a psychological thriller and it turned out to involve the main character eating his own cum and raping a minor to fix her mental problems And every time I run out of Baki on a manga site I'm dumped out into walls of horny isekai trash like I'm in some weird comic store steam store hybrid hell dimension I'll still read that garbage but there's a reason people are still cautious about it all. There's a lot of good manga or anime where you gotta go "yeah ignore that bit"

aot has bad art at the start, though i think the artist always captures motion well which is basically what im after in manga and animations i think by the end the art is really good. it very vaguely reminds me of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen which is one of my fav drawn comics the entire plot is quite bad though and whenever anyone goes into a multipage dialogue its gonna be extremely dumb. its one of those mangas where any time they start to explain whats going on it makes it worse than if it was just left up to intepretation i like the whole arc where you see things from the bad guys side though and find out that it wasn't really a plan or anything its a comedy of errors by brainwashed child soldiers

baki is probably my favourite ongoing manga but theres so much of it and it changes tone a few times before finding its stride as goofy as poo poo and almost untranslateable since the author is constantly making up words and using pidgin english theres also the bit where yujiro threatens to rape hillary clinton and she's into it but it is a manga after all e Hanma Baki is where it became my fav, during the Pickle arc. scientists have revived a beautiful caveman who used to fist fight dinosaurs, so naturally all the best fighters are being magnetically drawn to fight him and are sneaking in     whereas yujiro is the strongest creature on earth and just walks up to the front gate and this happens    Communist Thoughts has issued a correction as of 12:59 on Jun 17, 2021 |

yeah watch the originals then end of evangelion then if you still want more go watch the rebuild movies i dont really get why people didnt like EoE, it pays off pretty much everything that is set up in the series

we started watching the OG series of eva again after 4.0 and holy poo poo the OG series is *so* much better than rebuild i much prefer the plot of the OG show to whatever ended up being the plot of rebuild, the factions at play and character motivations are much more clear, and theres a lot more time for nice little moments, lots of great shots and character work plus its also way more cynical and i miss the old radical cynicism of 90s and 80s anime, where you got the sense the authors had some experience or opinions on the real world

What's the deal with the Berserk guy and his pedo mangas? I hadn't heard of this but it got brought up elsewhere in the forums that he's got at least two really dodgy mangas. Aw man... Well at least he's dead now and I feel way less bad about it! Whats the bad one if the piss one isn't it? Whatshisface the Blame! guy seems to be into piss too, the main character has to drink a girls piss in sidonia and that doll one. And the little blush people do in sidonia when their suit goes up their urethra, there's something goin on there I don't think it happens in Blame though and I didn't read biomega

early anime was either full fash or has this real interesting radical pacifist anti-war approach where the goodguys fight to end fighting and it was extremely anti-government and anti-imperial. i miss that era tbh. for a while i noticed every recent anime i saw had some point where a character would say "thats the law of nature, the weak die and the strong survive" whereas i feel like the early era had people who had some knowledge of actual politics or philosophy or what have you, now its all regurgitated from other animes thank god Baki is politically immaculate, nothing wrong there

reading rhe manga i totally didnt realise the wounded veteran was erin so when he reveals that then eats the prime minister or whoever i thought that was cool the art improves massively as it goes on, but whenever you see a whole page of text you know the story is about to get stupider or worse somehow

Yeah it was pretty confused, I think I may have finished reading it before the very last issue so I didn't see them thanking eren for being Hitler. Mikasa cutting his head off then kissing it was an OK ending. I did like the villains flashback where its shown that instead of being cunning masterminds they basically failed their mission in the first 10 minutes and were flying by the seat of their pants and having a terrible time. I like that kind of thing.

Never got into jojo, I got to whichever season had the younger dude, jotaro I think. It was pretty lame that his mum was so weak as a woman her jojo superpowers were killing her The best part of it was Roundabout I'm reading thru Alita 2 and 3 and it kinda owns? The most recent series is hilariously grimdark and features so many kids being killed at the start but it's super inventive and every few pages something completely insane and cool happens and then is forgotten about forever. I really like all the weird cyborg technology it's like warhammer 40k but pushed much further into the absurd and comical which is very much my poo poo. I love the crazy space marines whose heads they screw into their bodies like light bulbs

wow the new run of alita sure is something! lots of grimdarkness and body horror in a pretty hilarious change of tone from the rest. the reveal of alita's backstory 24 years into her manga is pretty hilarious shes the excised tumour of a woman who got hit by a trap from a treasure chest, inhaling a gas that causes heads and faces to be grown all over your body, alita is one of those tumours attached to a robot body made doubly funny by the fact that current alita has basically nothing to do with OG alita biologically so it has absolutely no bearing on the story also christ he's been writing it since 2014 and its barely gone anywhere, this is gonna take til 2030 at least
