i fell off anime hard for a long time, so the last things i remember watching are kill la kill, the rebuild eva movies (4th coming out soon!? 😱) and... devilman crybaby. basically only stuff i've heard a lot about. i've been meaning to watch paranoia agent, promare and kengen ashura but i've been feeling more like playing an interactive game instead of watching stuff

the gamer is a korean manhwa about the hidden world of the abyss, where basically every kind of magic, monster and mystical martial art is real. the main character discovers he has the power of the gamer, a completely overpowered ability that lets him ignore all the normal rules in lieu of video game logic. kill a monster? it'll drop loot. buy a tome of magical knowledge? consume it instantly to learn the spell instead needing to spend centuries studying it. he ends up completely loving up the economy of the abyss with his crafting ability. the translations suck and it's pretty unserious, light-hearted fun but every now and then the author puts in poo poo about the shittiness of corporate culture, late stage capitalism or prison labour or something crepeface posted:just caught up with a bunch of episodes while sick, laughing at also there's no bullshit harem crap (after years of updates) and it makes jokes about it crepeface has issued a correction as of 09:40 on Jan 6, 2022 |
