When in the course of forum events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume the separate and equal station to which the mods and Jeffrey of YOSPOS entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of posters requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. Having in the past suffered many indignities under the yoke of others, now deposed and replaced with a new order of moderation, this is what the law of the forums dictates for the defense of the right to post in C-SPAM, which we ought to transmit to posterity. That is to say, I am pleased to announce that C-SPAM is, of this day, now a top-level forum, and finally after years of negotiations is now a free and independent forum upon which no other forum will hold any sway or force whatsoever. This has already been the status quo for quite some time. However, it has now been decided that this reality should be reflected in the organization of the forums, in order to properly acknowledge and permanently solidify this change. Together with the impact of recent events, this also means that there will be Changes to C-SPAM: You may have noticed that several long-standing threads in C-SPAM were recently rebooted. There are also currently many changes happening in the government of the United States (with which C-SPAM is obsessed). These changes in the government necessitate a re-ordering of many of the long-standing institutions in C-SPAM, among which are the following:
Seeing as the closing of these two threads will certainly cause much strife and confusion, it felt necessary to make this announcement, and explain the new structure of threads which we have proposed going forward. Therefore, the following new threads are hereby proposed as replacements for those previously mentioned:
While this is the best attempt of the mods to handle the material reality of a transition in ruling parties, and the result of much thought and consideration regarding how to handle this change, and these changes were made with the needs of the current posters of C-SPAM in mind, we realize that threads nevertheless have a life of their own, as does the forum itself, and we'll see how these proposed changes play out, and try our best to react accordingly. Furthermore, it must also be announced that there are Changes to Moderation Staff: Firstly, we have already announced this in the Rules Thread, but there is a new C-SPAM mod, Flavius Aetass. Welcome aboard, Flav! Beyond that there are many changes occurring within our complicated system of IKs. Several of our at-large IKs are coming up on their one-year anniversary of IKship, around which time they will be rotated out if they have not been already. Thread-specific IKs will remain in place until they step down or otherwise give cause to be removed. The calculations, record-keeping, and decision-making around the IKs of C-SPAM are complex, and a matter of much discussion. To make a long story short, we are removing the following IKs:
