it's fun to engage in predictions at this timescale; typical doomer internet posts are all about decades-long declines and trends and so forth, so making more falsifiable calls is fun anyway, some sort of foreign policy crisis is an obvious choice. maybe something with iran. i feel like south american news isn't major headline material for US cable news, even with venezuela and all that
