AP will be age 36 heading into next season. Is there any way he can accomplish this, realistically?

Peterson is just 3,535 rushing yards away from catching Smith's all-time mark of 18,355 ... and the NFL legend says if all goes according to plan, he should blow right by the former Cowboys superstar.

"I want to live to be a 40-year-old back out there rushing for 1,500 yards and amazing people still," Peterson tells us.

Peterson put up 604 yards on 156 carries last season for a putrid Detroit Lions team.

Frank Gore in his age 36 season last year racked up just 599 yards. Gore added 653 yards in 2020, at age 37.

Sort of. No RB who finished his career in the Top 5 has ever missed out on the Hall. Did Rivers crack Top 5 in counting stats or is he around #7?

I don't know what to make of Rivers' chances. Marino had no ringz but he ended his career #1 in like every single counting stat. Fouts is in, and Rivers did it better and longer than Fouts. He's such a tough call bc of his contemporaries

thats surprising, but there is a giant jump from rivers to the top 4. if big ben plays one more year he probably passes rivers for 5th, and ryan and rodgers can get there too

gore is top 5 career when its harder and harder to run and its going to be hard for anyone (peterson, henry??) to get to his numbers, while rivers is top 5 career when its easier and easier to pass and he'll barely be top 10 by the time he's hof eligible

Not to mention the fact that Gore’s accomplishment in the era, which became increasingly pass-focused, is remarkable in itself.

Regardless of whether Rivers will get into the Hall of Fame, he doesn’t and won’t get the same benefit of the doubt because doing what he did almost became the expectation for a good quarterback.

Tough to imagine raising six kids on only $102 million.

One of the first things that popped up while I was trying to find his career earnings was a story about him being unable to pay back something like $5 million he borrowed in order to pay back a payday loan, so yikes there. Highest paid running back of all time and he's going to retire in debt, holy poo poo.

the crazy thing about both Gore and Peterson is they both had every "short career derailed by injuries" red flag a running back can have

perhaps the secret key to RB longevity is to get all of your joints obliterated early on so you're playing on titanium from that point forward

Hey, I'd put Rivers in the Hall! It might take him a bit to get in, because he overlapped with a lot of other good quarterbacks in an era that encouraged passing, but he totally belongs. He was a top-5 recognizable QB in the league for his whole career even without any rings, and that's plenty for me.
