AP will be age 36 heading into next season. Is there any way he can accomplish this, realistically? Peterson is just 3,535 rushing yards away from catching Smith's all-time mark of 18,355 ... and the NFL legend says if all goes according to plan, he should blow right by the former Cowboys superstar. "I want to live to be a 40-year-old back out there rushing for 1,500 yards and amazing people still," Peterson tells us. https://www.tmz.com/2021/02/15/adrian-peterson-emmitt-smith-nfl-rushing-yards-career-all-time/ https://twitter.com/TMZ_Sports/status/1361285659978260482 Peterson put up 604 yards on 156 carries last season for a putrid Detroit Lions team. Frank Gore in his age 36 season last year racked up just 599 yards. Gore added 653 yards in 2020, at age 37.

No. But also the idea of rushing for 1,500 yards at age 40 is hilarious.

Regardless of whether Rivers will get into the Hall of Fame, he doesn’t and won’t get the same benefit of the doubt because doing what he did almost became the expectation for a good quarterback. Highest paid running back of all time and he's going to retire in debt, holy poo poo.

the crazy thing about both Gore and Peterson is they both had every "short career derailed by injuries" red flag a running back can have perhaps the secret key to RB longevity is to get all of your joints obliterated early on so you're playing on titanium from that point forward
