I wish the game had taken the X-COM vibes even further. Rabbid autopsies. A shadowy figure on a monitor giving Mario orders who is blatantly Peach in silhouette. That loadout screen from the 90s original with the line of shadowy men in black holding out a suitcase of deniable banknotes, only they're all Toads and the case is full of coins...
